Great work! I would have made it a bit more white but if you like it as is, then by all means, keep it! :)

Thanks for all the comments! yeah I agree that the wall could do with being more white, but I'm not too bothered with the warm brown look.

I loved the terrain! Don't worry about finessing the colours - given that most of Osgiliath lay in ruins for hundreds of years, and was fought over repeatedly, then dirt, moss and weathering would have taken a severe toll on its appearance (a bit like me really :( ). It looks very much in character. I would add some rubble randomly along the base, not too much (sometimes less is more!) Keep up the good work!

Nice job Drum!

I dont know if you know this but when you use foamcore, you can moist up the paper (with sponge or something) and then you can peal of the paper. When the paper is off, its easy to carve the brick pattern to the piece. Its also a good way to mimic chipped plaster if you just rip part of the paper off...

The pealing isnt always easy, because sometimes i have to submerge the whole thing under water before the paper comes of. Sometimes i just wipe the surface with water and the paper comes off...

Update: I'm going to have to do both sides of the building so that it looks good inside & out. So I've got double the work to finish this piece at the moment. The arches are a little higher than the other wall but otherwise things are going well. Will get you another update as soon as... . and it's Christmas soon so I'll have some time!! :D :D

@Dorthonion: Yep, I agree that Osgiliath endured some heavy fighting and then just lay in ruins. Thanks for the input - and yeah rubble will be added once I have the other sides & I put the mode together.

@JCoo: Yep I've tried the method before and it's quite difficult. I'll try the sponge + warm water method to see if that works any better. Anywhoo I'm not too fussed at the moment since I've found a way to make it look decent enough of paper. It doesn't show too much does it?

@polarbird2: well it's a work in progress... so not finished yet. Constructive criticism is more helpful...

Very nice!
Do you plan to put the walls on one base or separate bases to add variety?

Sorry for being rather inactive over the past while. I decided to give my hand at painting again and finish of the fellowship that I started a while back. I'm also organizing a Rohan army which is needing priming first. I've started legolas, tell me what you think so far.

He looks pretty good. His eye's are a bit big, but other than that, it's a good start. :)

Any more work on that awesome scenery? Dying to see it set up with miniatures battling near it!
