Looking good so far Drum. I will be tackling the Fellowship once my I've done my Shaman and my Monster for next months challenge as I will be getting the Balins Tomb display base through the post, so I will be following the progress of your fellowship with great interest :)

I never expected that tombe to be that heavy. It quite suprised me when i got it. No wonder the shipping costs were so high.

Thanks. Yeah. .... .. that idea of getting the whole fellowship done in a week really didn't work out too well.. . lol. They're staring at me across the room now, just waiting to be painted but I'm getting piled with homework at the moment because of NABs/Prelim coming up soon and also the fact that Skyrim is out. :P

I've had some time to work on an Osgiliath ruin today after re-watching the RotK movie. I'm taking a different approach using the foamcore rather than the blocks and it's worked out well so far. I'm wondering if I should use it as actually doors or to have it just blocked off and use it as decor. Any opinions? Not sure what this ruins going to look like yet - I just started making a random wall side so I have no plan. I quite like the idea of a tower somewhere but that takes time and I've got soo much terrain to actually finish yet. Also I'm going to hit the problem of bricks... I can't draw them in because of the paper so any idea's? Well anywhoo here are a few examples so far:

i like the archways best but that is cause they would be useful in a gaming situation :)

@elessar: yeah I would have gone for that option since it's easier for gaming but I decided against it after all.

The bricks really add detail! Whats your verdict?

Very nice work Drum 8) At least Skyrim isn't distracting you too much,

@Hilbert: Thanks! :D

@Cyndra: haha lol yeah. Not to worry though I had a damn good shot at playing that game... clocked up far too many hours for my liking. It's very refreshing to come back to some lotr terrain.

Here's the last of the progress for tonight. Do you think I hit that 'Osgiliath colour' okay?
Now... ... time to finish the rest of the building (which I haven't even thought of what it looks like yet!)

Excellent! I like the weathered look - very natural and realistic looking.

Thanks for all the great comments! :D Yep got the weathered/ruined look just spot on and the osgiliath colour is to my liking. Although after looking through the films it's actually a lot more white/grey but the warm brown gives a nice change. Will get some more walls done as soon as possible.
