Finally, the winner of this seasons Committee Choice Award is

Faramir as the winner of the Committee's Choice Award for January 2006. This season's prize is a boxed set of the Breaking of the Fellowship.

As well as entering three good quality entries, he is also an active member in the best sense of the word who puts quite a bit of effort into the Community.

It was a difficult decision to make and eventually it was down to a choice between Faramir and Beatrice. The Committee has awarded an additional 10 gold coins to Beatrice for her excellent entry as well as an encouragement for her contributions on the forums.

Congratulations Faramir, and well done to all who entered.

This was the first time I have ever entered an on-line contest and it was quite fun - a very "low-threat" affair. I especially like that the judging is peer-based with the only panel judging being the big award determined by the site administrators. It's always interesting to see what appeals to the general membership, instead of a few select judges. It's a more honest appraisal that way, IMO.

Kudos to all who entered and to Dagorlad for setting up the whole thing. Looking forward to entering the next one.

Well done to everyone who entered, and especially to those who placed in the top three. Looking at the votes in some of the categories, the competition was extremely close.

The Gold Coins will be organised today, and a little icon will be added to your user's profile, much like the Hall of Fame badges etc.

I was especially pleased with the amount of voting that took place. Many more people voted than entered the competition, so it showed how much support the competitors received from the community. Well done everyone. This has been a great success and a wonderful way to start off our regular 3-monthly contest.

Get painting guys, the next one is starting in March.

Well done to everyone who came in the top 3! But if you ask me, every entry was so good, everyone should all be considered winners for being so great!

Congratulations to everyone involved in this competition.
It was a pleasure to study the fantastic photographs and documents submitted. The quality evident on the site of late is quite astounding!
Makes me wonder what we'll see next time! :)

Wow.. I really wasn't expecting to place in the top three in any catergories, let alone two! I'd just like to take this chance to thank everyone who voted for me, and a big congratulations to everyone who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd. :D

There were so many fantastic entries that it was hard to choose. Bad luck to anyone who didn't place, however there's always next season! ;)
