there was speculation that Sauron - after having achieved full victory - might have attempted to free his former master Morgoth.

BUT it is unlikely and since he knew his chances might be bigger to get smashed.

Don't forget: Sauron, at the height of his power without the ring and later with the ring, was defeated first be Numenor and later the Last Alliance. And even though we talk here about the mightiest humans in Middle-Earth and High-Elves, they are just mortal beings.
And if they managed to defeat Sauron, how much hope should he have to defeat the Valar, who easily defeated his master who again was much more powerful than he himself?

No I guess Sauron knew his boundaries and would have been content with having absolute power over Middle-Earth. Maybe after some time, he might get overconfident and try to attack the Valar.
But everything in this regard is highly speculative.

I love these videos, he does a great job. I have a bit about why I think the Valar would not have intervened if Sauron had won the war.

I always assumed given his tyrannical nature, he would continue to expand until prevented by someone.
