Played another fun, story-driven scenario from FOTR with my son this afternoon. I think we spent more time building terrain and painting specific models for this scenario than actually playing the game. My son did a great job painting Tom and Goldberry in particular.

The Barrow Wights were able to paralyze and drag their prey with ease most of the time.
Though hobbits were able to break out of their spells every now and then, they were not able to successfully call on Tom until very late in the game, too late in fact. Merry had already been sacrificed by then and Tom only had two turns to close the distance and save Pippin.
We assumed that the halflings could not call on Tom if the evil side had priority and had charged a hobbit. So they key to an evil side victory was limiting the opportunities good had to call on Tom for help. Poor Goldberry never even got in the game! She was there for post-game photo-op only.
