Cheers all.
Got the previously previewed batch of Mirkwoodians painted up, nearly completing the collection (while typing this, I remembered having one 1 more plastic Guard left who should become a Captain at some point). Tempted by the new Thranduil as well...
All of 'em
The banner bearer. The banner is magnetised at the bottom and snuggly fits between the arm and body (a bit too much so after applying paint and varnish...): stable, but easily removed for transport or if simply not used in the game.
Close-ups of the banner - difficult to photograph well with the folds and shiney paint! One of the very few instances where I've actually painted a gem, something normally too gimmicky to my tastes, given the sheer size or impractibility of some (e.g. as a massive shield boss). The top banner I envision as the generic Mirkwood banner; the script reads 'Eryn' (as in Eryn Galen, 'Greenwood the Great' - Eryn simply means forest). The lower banner would be the addition for Thranduil's regiment (carried by a Palace Guard here of course), with the 'Th' rune to indicate it.
Should say I didn't spend too much time on it, not sure if the shading and banner material in general (paper with wood glue, additional layers of varnish to toughen it) would work out. Turned out better than expected, so now wished the freehand was a bit tidier!

Two converted regular warriors (swapping the arms of both poses). I like the aggressive stance of the one on the left, while the other one is supposed to appear blocking an enemy blow (as the glaives can shield).
And for good measure, the final Ranger
