Sorry its late guys. Up to my eyeballs in a diorama for this years Golden Demon competition. This months topic will be ....
Image

This will be a single miniature challenge and can be ANY model which has the ability to use magic in his stat line.

1. To enter the painting challenge, the miniature you are painting must not be painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniature 'pre-painted' (unprimed, undercoated or if you are repainting and old miniature - in its' original paint scheme) otherwise your entry will not be eligible.

2. You may join the painting challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of the completed miniature by midnight GMT of April 30th 2017. WIP images are welcomed and encouraged. A maximum of 4 photos of your completed entries please, this allows you to show your miniatures off from front, back and each side which is more than enough. If you would like to compile more than four pictures into one file it is ok to do that

Pictures of completed models must be submit using a third party hosting site such as photobucket or imageshack. Pictures submit by attachment will not be eligible for the vote. Any problems PM me.

3. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. The community will choose one winner and one runner-up from the completed miniatures. Votes should be cast not simply on painting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of painting techniques, artist improvement, etc. There is no prize available for the winners of this challenge, the challenge is solely for community participation and as an incentive for people to reduce their backlog and improve their painting skills.

4. With the introduction of The League Winners from the previous month are now eligible to enter and win consecutive challenges without penalty.

Good luck and have fun!

Well with this and the facebook competition for Gandalf from goblin town and the nice weather I want to give this a serious attempt. I will take a picture later and hopefully compete (and hopefully get it complete!)

The Unexpected Journey, I may need to rephrase though, it's more of a challenge than a competition. More of a way to clear the collection and challenge yourself to a set model each month.

I've been looking at old painting challenges for the last few days. I have decided to have a go myself.

I've never painted white cloth on a miniature before, so I'm trying that for the first time.

Sharkey doesn't contain too much white, so this model seems like a good start for me.

My proof picture is attached.

Here's my entry for the competition. White cloth is hard.... Any tips are very welcome!:)

Sharkey and Worm kind of reminded me of Ramsay Bolton and Reek from Game of Thrones. That, along with his pose made me think a dog would fit in great with this model.

Nice face on Elrond, very characterful.

Here's my entry... Radagast on Bunny Sleigh!

One of my favourite characters and models, have had it for a year now and cant wait to get him painted finally!

Awesome! The models eyes really draw the focus of my eyes and anchor the character. I can never imagine how y'all manage to paint the eyes on these things.
