Anyone know of a source listing, even if wholly invented, the orders of battle and battleplans/maps for the battles between Rohan and Isengard in the War of the Ring?

I've been building up my 10mm armies for each side and I want to fight over the Westfold but I'm wondering if some large scale scenarios have been crafted! (I have GW's Journeybooks which are a great start as they have the major battles, but obviously not at the scale I'm wanting to do, but wouldn't mind adapting them if there's nothing else)

thanks everyone!

Are you familiar with the "Middle Earth in Flames" rules that showed up in White Dwarf at one point? You got a hex map covering Isengard, Rohan, Gondor, and western Mordor and rules for raising armies and marching them around the hexes. GW released them as a free PDF that I could send you if you like.

Thanks guys, and yeah I'd love to see the Middle Earth in Flames rules.

Well, since you want to go big, why not look at the War of the Ring rulebook and scenarios. These are specifically designed for army clashes, not skirmishes like the regular rules. Just scale everything down.

Below are links to the free PDFs GW put out for Middle Earth in Flames and "War of Saruman" which is a bunch of Isengard vs. Rohan scenarios (including the largest scenario GW ever published, an attack on Helm's Deep that literally calls for 10,000 Uruk Hai warriors).

@GreatKhanArtist
I'll be using Bo5A/Warmaster and Copplestone/other figs in 10mm, so the War of the Ring rules aren't that helpful, but good idea to check out the scenarios!

Mainly just wanting to replay all the battles between Isengard and Rohan in 10mm :) I was hoping there was a resource that outlined the maps and position of troops and types so I could accurate recreate the terrain and troops for 10mm Bo5A/Warmaster.

There weren’t a whole lot of battles. An unspecified number of skirmishes happened. Read Unfinished Tales for an in-depth description of the Battles of the Fords of Isen to include troop types and equipment.

In terms of orders of battle, Isengard was the overall weaker army. About 10K orcs, but Rohan could call on at least 12K warriors. The main advantage lay in Saruman’s use of spies, particularly Grima to keep Theoden from mustering Rohan’s strength. The attack on Helm’s Deep was a do-or-die gamble on Saruman’s part since he thought Theoden had the ring (Gandalf describes his motivation in the books). He threw everything he had into the field, and caught Rohan unprepared for war. His only chance lay in destroying Rohan piecemeal.
