Great to see you back Jimmy. You have been busy.
At the risk of offending others I will do as I always do with you, offer some honest feedback and give you some ponyers, I know you take it in good faith and it has helped you I prove.
I like the choice of colours for Hama and want to do concentrate my feedback on Hama and Eowyn. The highlights are good and were I think this will benefit is work on mid and dark tones to help it pop. A very thin glaze of purple will help push the cold colours and create some depth. Use more glazes the deeper you go I to the cloak.
In the deepest folds try a black ink if you have some, if not regular black applied in a few glazes.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Mally :)
I could never be offended with your comments! They're one of the main reasons of my development and, if it weren't for them, I'd be several steps behind of what I am at this point.
I'm very thankful to you :-D

About the glazes, I've used a very thinned down green wash in Gamling's and Éowyn's cloak. Being my next model Háma, I'll definitely try the purple and black tips.

You have to thin these paints to get a glaze consistency. Each layer will only give a slight change in colour so the amount of coats you apply will greatly increase.
Remember it's a glaze not a wash.
A handy tool to have around is a hair drying, a quick blast cuts out drying time if you have applied a tad too much. Also with glaze mediums or other such products you can have issue waiting for paint to dry.

It looks nice though all painted up, what material did you make it from?

I've just scrolled through about 5 pages of this. The improvements you've made over a year are phenomenal. Your grasp of faces are enviable, Gandalf's and Faramir's in particular. The armour tinting you've done for Faramir, Elendil and Isildur stand out well. Hama's cloak is a beautiful shade.
Unlike Gandlaf i have no deep insightful advice on how to paint. All I offer are congratulations and encouragement.

Well, let's revive this WIP
I've been away from the painting table for a few time, so I've decided to paint a "test mini"... I think it went well
I'm a bit disappointed with the skin tough...

@MacCollac
Honestly, I don't quite remember (shame on me).
I'd say, probably, a basecoat of Stormvermin Fur followed by a heavy Administratum Grey drybrush and, finnaly, a light white drybrush.

Nice to see you're back at it! I think I remember your name from the old TLA over 10 years ago. Always fun to see veterans return!

Painting is very nicely done, and the blood looks realistic! :yay:

That wasn't me Fëanor... I think "Aulë" might be a relatively common name in forums such as these (I mean Tolkien themed)

Many thanks :D
