Thank you everyone :)

I must confess I've become side tracked again... I'm hoping it will be another cool looking piece though.
Here's a sneak preview of progress so far

Quick update on things...

Unfortunately my tree based diorama piece has hit a snag, in the form of the "finecast" mini being really poorly cast and I'm having to wait for a replacement :(

On the plus side I was making good progress with the base....
Here's a sneak peek (and a massive give away to identity of the mini)

Image

While I'm waiting I've started to make some progress on my Dol Amroth though, so not all bad I guess

That base looks amazing! Do you have a picture of the whole base? :)
And your knights are coming along nicely. Don't be hasty, Master BrushStroke ;)

Thanks Baardeend :)
I don't have a pic of the full base, as I've only started flocking that one end so far...
I do have a couple of pics of some detail bits I'm working on at the moment though

Ooh, that looks really nice so far. That figure lends itself well to a large scenic base. 8)

Incredible, absolutely incredible! This must be the first game legal diorama piece I've ever seen ;)

Bonsai!
You will need to clip the roots and prune the branches each year so the tree doesn't grow too big for the pot.

What a lovely model! Most impressive in every way.

Love the diorama.

Also appreciating the comments on the eagle. Would you recommend buying them, or are they just too much trouble? I've been saving for their 3 eagles for quite some time now and would like to know if I should just buy GW's plastic ones.

Thanks GreatKhanArtist

Regarding Gamezone eagles, I actually bought all 3 and was really looking forward to painting them up (so many ideas for them :) )
When they arrived though, I was really disappointed to find problems with them all. Each one had problems, ranging from mis-cast details, to holes, to pieces not even being from the right model

So, after weeks of back and forth with their customer services I finally got them to accept they were not up to scratch and send me replacement models. This was delayed further by them saying they needed to recast the model as the moulds were damaged.

A couple of weeks after that, they arrived from Spain and I found they had only sent replacement pieces for the faults they felt warranted replacing, instead of the whole models, which I was under the impression had been agreed.

I figured it was the best I was going to get so I made up the one I posted on here. It still took a fair amount of green stuffing and corrective work to get it looking right....

I absolutely love the sculpts and the look of their eagles but right now I just can't bring myself to start the other two....

Of course this is just my experience and there is nothing to say you'll have anywhere near the same problems.
All I would say is, if you're not comfortable doing some work to get your models to fit etc, then perhaps these are to be avoided...

On the plus side, they do look great :-D
