So after quiete some time lurking and gathering inspiration on this forum I finally decided to register and upload some of my own work. I figured it would be time for me to start and actually finish a project since i've been collecting for roughly 12 years now and never really finished anything :'(.

At the moment I have a 4000 points Isengard army, a 1200 points Rohan army and looking to expand with some dwarves. My first goal is to finish a major part of my Uruks and to do that I hope to paint up around 250 pts each month.

In my first month (I start counting at the start of March) I'll be painting these:

Following are 2 recently painted models to show my style and what I'm capable of:

Comments and criticism are highly appreciated!

Welcome fellow traveller! :)

Good painting skills and nice WIP! We still need to find the time to post our WIPs up.

Really like your gritty realistic style on the Troll, very convincing! How did you achieve the flesh? Word of criticism, the blood on the Uruk-hai would look better if you splattered it more.

We will definitely keep up with this WIP!

The Troll looks suitably vicious and very nicely painted.

The flesh is achieved by painting in horizontal lines with a base of scorched brown and slowly building that up with mixes of tallarn flesh and dheneb stone (i'm sorry I have an odd combination of old and newer paints and im not too familiar with the newer range yet). After the flesh colors were done I washed everything with purple and blue to give it a warmer finish.

And i'll try to do something about the blood, first time painting blood so yea.

In the past days I managed to paint 2 Berserkers (about 90% finished):

I also managed to do some work on my pikemen but I didn't find too much time to actually push through and do all 10 :x

However, after months of searching I finally achieved ultimate Lurtz status so it has been a pretty good week so far. Now I need to murder someone to find that damned Uruk scout captain...

Anyway, like before please feel free to criticize my work!

Love the trim on the armour for the pikeman. Makes them really stand out. Flesh on the troll and beserkers is lovely too! Looking forward to more.

Thanks for the flesh tip! Might try it out. 8) (Don't worry, we are also stuck in the time warp between the new and old paint ranges. :-D )

For the blood, you can use a hard toothbrush or a stippling brush and use it to lightly flick some blood spray where it has been splattered on the armour and flesh.

I like your Berserkers with their blood manes and the nice sharp neat finish on your pikemen! Your work's impressive!
