Thanks again for the encouraging comments guys. Busy week ahead but hopefully I can find time to work on a few more things.

Here is a quick update on what I've been working on over this last week.
I was unsure if they would fit alongside the metal versions, but decided to paint a couple of my favourite poses up and see. Thinking I will end up using one of these as a captain...
Love the dynamic pose of both, and although the gold seems to come out slightly different on plastic to metal, they still look pretty good together I think.

Look great. Never understood why GW didn't paint them in the same scheme as the metal versions.

I really like your elves. I'm usually not a fan of mixing red and blue, but you have achieved a very good result.

wow, the color scheme is great! They really look like the metal elves and fit the scheme given to us by jackson.

I've actually never really seen someone paint the plastic galadhrim based on the Two Towers elves.

Most of the time, it's some weirdo that tries to come up with their own scheme to base them off some "First Age" color schemes. Some people man.... hehe

Thanks for the nice comments once again ya'll. I sprayed up a couple of the spearmen with shields today. Gonna make a start on them tomorrow I think. Just really like painting new and different models. Keeps me psyched!

I love seeing your awesome schemes man. The colour combo's you come up with are always super refreshing. I am just a sucker for the movies ;)

Really well done with those pesky plastic elves here.
Very effective use of basic colours, some highlighting and washes in display.
You've noticed that the gold doesn't give the same result in the end as with the metal counterparts too, so I'm not the only one?
Keep it up!

Cheers! Yes it is bizarre eh? I'm sure someone with more knowledge on these things would be able to help explain why...
I figured at first maybe I had just got the mixes a bit different to when I painted the metals, but I'm convinced now its something to with the material. The gold definitely seemed to come out more shiny and yellow with the metal versions.
They still blend together fairly well though I think.

Beautiful work, particularly on the gold.

I need to try and emulate that with my armoured mirkwood elves, mine came out very 'ring gold'.

Used Balthazar, followed by Ghenna, followed by highlights of auric.

Cheers :) it takes a little time a patience to build up the layers but worth it in the end. You do become faster as well the more you do.

Try adding a couple of washes. Agrax Earthshade is super useful and Seraphim Sepia is a must too! Really helps to bring it all out.

Lovely work on the elf, it has a dusky sort of feel to it that is appealing.

I am liking these plastic Galadhrim versions more and more. Metals are still my favourite I think but some of the plastic poses are really cool. Tempted to do up a load more.

However I have myself a new project. Picked up Thorins Company yesterday and I am super excited to get going with them. They are some of most detailed and life like mini's I've come accross. Stunning models. Only question is... who do I start with??? Decisions decisions...

I'll be sure to post up my progress. I'd love to them justice with a decent paintjob. These could take a while!

My feeling was to start with Bombur as well! What a great little mini he is. Not really painted anything quite like him before, definitely different and it is proving super fun to pick out the details.

Here is where I've gotten to so far...

Thorins company are great models, they are both great to paint and a pain as they have set schemes to keep with the films (almost would be better if there was nothing to reference for them to see some real good work). Bombur is looking good.
