Here are some goblins and the big guy himself I painted a few months ago, with a converted goblin captain with a turtle shell or something on his back.

I didn't bother to grass the bases, since they are supposed to be underground in goblin town.

These are absolutely fantastic - i love the grubby skin tone you've achieved on them. Phenomenal work!

Nice job.

Say what you will about the hobbit range, but the goblins have brought out some of the best in people's imagination, for relatively simple models.

Colour choice for the skin is first class, makes them look much better than the GW version.

The darker skin tone is a much better fit than the pale scheme GW went for and it is very well executed.

The darker skin tone works perfectly for the goblins, great work :)

I couldn't agree more with Gene.

Exciting stuff.

I'll be working with loads of goblins soon and I just don't know yet how to approach them.
However, you people give us inspiration.
What was yours, if I may?

These look really great, delightfully evil. I'm busily converting, painting and working on terrain for my own Goblin Town project, and these eyes are exactly the hints i needed.

Thanks for all the kind comments!

Here is my first attempt, a lot lighter skin tone as you can see.

Swapped out Narzugs swordbow for an orc bow, looks a lot better in my opinion.

Thanks, as far as I remember, this is how I did it:

Basecoat: Rakarth Flesh
Wash: Carroburg Crimson
Drybrush: Rakarth Flesh & Ceramite White mix
Second drybrush: Rakarth Flesh & Ceramite White mix, with even more White in the mix.
Wash: Finish it all off with a wash of Scorched Brown or Rhinox Hide, I don't remember. This makes the skin look more dirty.

Some updates on my recent work, during the holidays I've been working on some objective markers of Thorin, Kili and Fili. They are making snow angels(maiar) obviously. This is my first try on snow effects, I mixed equal parts of baking soda, white paint and PVA glue to make it. Looks alright.

I also got Azog in the mail today, a late christmas present of sorts and my first 2015 project! So I got stuck in and assembled him, pretty cool model. I decided to alter his arm pose a bit, the original pose looks a bit strange.

The dead dwarven faces looks nasty, great detail. He's also huge, taller than the first Azog as far as I know, but Beorn is taller! His mace is super flimsy by the way.

That's all for now folks!

Tricky those pesky goblins. Skin looks a real pain to paint. You've done well buddy and the eyes set them off nicely.

Tricky but fun!

The credits belong to Garfy at Taleofpainters, I used his brilliant guide to paint the eyes.

I had some plastic corsairs laying around doing nothing, so I'm making Lake-town militia out of them.

I planned to use the guy with the eyepatch as a captain, but I didn't notice that the captain profile has a spear. Need to add that later.

They pass brilliantly as lake town guys!
Some great poses and the captain looks wicked.

Great idea using the Corsairs as Laketown, I'd be doing that myself if they weren't needed for my Evil armies.

Long time no update!

Painted these four guys yesterday. I still need to grass them and maybe do some last finish touch ups.

I did the rest roughtly a month ago.

I couldn't sleep last night, hence the dark pictures, so I did some warpaint on my Hunter orcs
