I've made some progress! Done all the armour on the men of Gondor and started work on the straps. Am going for a darker look to the armour. Never noticed before but there is a huge scale difference between the metal (much bigger) and plastic Gondor warriors (see 2nd photo down). Will have to put the larger ones at the front of the picture.

Also put together the great beast and it's howdah.

Do I need proof for the models that only came out in December? Because I want mine to be a surprise... I will work out which models are pre-December release dates and proof those. Muahaha.

You can always take pictures now, and only post them in a few months time, when the entry is finished.

Some major progress on my project. There are more pics in my WIP thread if you are interested. I need to start the scenery now and paint the great beast.

Some more progress on my diorama (I hope I'm not the only one doing this - has anyone else made any progress :?:)

Anyhoo - the whole thing is to represent some ruins of Osgiliath. The centrepiece is a bridge over a flowing river. I didn't have a bridge 'kit' to use so I improvised using the Hirst Arts moulds I already had.

Here is the frame of the bridge made out of plywood

Image

Now adding some cobblestones

Image

And some of the stonework and columns

Image

Also making an archway with a ruined wall

Image

Warrior for scale

Image

Complete with the wall

Image

Also making a ruined wall with a broken statue out front. You might recognise the statue from the GW ruins of Osgiliath kit. I just sawed it's head off and added greenstuff to make it look like broken stone

Image

Also making the wall of some 'residential' buildings or whatever with a few slots for windows and a couple of doorways

Image

Here is the timber board it will all the placed on

Image

Here are some shots of the pieces in place with some paving I have done. Just starting to work out the various details of the board.

Image

Image

Have to make the second doorway yet

Image

Bridge column detail also showing a ruined top section of the bridge

Image

So all this will be painted sandstone using the tutorial that Brushstroke posted (thanks!).

And let no-one say I am not ambitious - I thought of also adding some extra orcs to the battle - using the yee oldie metal orcs for that (hopefully)

Image

C&C and tips welcome!

I have my figures half done and not started the base. Currently I am assembling my Glottkin.
I'm in a proper dilemma at present as to what I do. The idea is there for the piece but time is running out.

Go for it Mally! I don't want to be the only one entering this - that would just be depressing :(

I have a doubt... I have watched this Challenge yesterday, so I don't know if I can participate with the minis I have painted last january, february, march and april from Goblins, and the minis I'm goingo to paint this may. All should be in time, but I haven't got a initial photo of all, I have a photo with some things, but my project is rising with the time...

And my question is... Could I participate with my Goblins?. The wip is my wip threat...

Wainting for upload the photos here or not.

Thanks.

Karavatis - I follow your WIP thread closely and have watched as you have completed your goblins. They have been painted within the required timeframe so yes I have no problem allowing you to use them for this challenge.

Good luck my friend.

Excellent news. Two of us doing the same figures, this will be really interesting how our different outlooks work. I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Ok, thanks to Dead Marsh Spectre and to Gandalf the Grey who participates with the same army I'm working on.

Well, to present my army I want to upload here some photos about how is my work at this moment...

The first minis I started to work with were these.

Image

And I made some conversion on them...

Image

The first minis finished

Image

And more goblins with The Scribe and The Great Goblin's King

Image

I have finished them too:

Image

At this moment I'm looking for ideas for making the Goblin's City, and I'm starting a great element of it...

Giddy up! I am glad there are now a few of us doing this challenge. I'm really looking forward to seeing both goblin towns.
