Now, if such are no warm greetings, I don't know what is :)

I just got it back into its dry dock to get the sea stallion finally seaworthy! The rigging (I have enough of tiny tiny knots for a while now! ;) ) is mostly done and photos shall follow very soon. Painting the shield rims and bosses was the most annoying part so far...

So, here you go, a quick snapshot of the ship for you fellows.

I will try and get some better photos when I have the time (and light) for that, maybe also some detail-shots of the rigging. And I finally should get the shields attached I guess ;)

I also wondered, if anybody has any experience with minis of the company "EMHAR"? They have viking oarsmen, which could be a nice touch to the dragon ship and I'm thinking about getting a box from ebay :)

1/72nd scale, get your magnifying glass out, the boat is looking really good.

I wish I could put one up indeed. But with uncertain future and movings pending that will stay a dream for quite a while I guess..

Damn.. thanks for that hint, don't know how I didn't notice that. The boat is in 1:50 scale.. that's not vry compatible then, is it? Dwarves on the boat would look silly I fear. 28mm minis would work (I tested it with LotR minis), but there are no oarsmen in that range either. I guess I should burry the thoughts of having a crew? :( What do you think?

I found these on the internet:

Quite a nice find I made, are vikings of "Zvezda", but again in 1:72 scale.. :(

Seriously Gandlaf?? :D Come on... Monty Python's Silly Walk is (or should be) common knowledge!

Despite of that it would be nice to get some feedback on the 1:50 / 1:72 scale mix matter though. :)

The ship looks really nice, I like it a lot!
I don't think the miniatures fit at all, as you can see on the picture they can't even look over the edge of the boat.

That's a good point Son of Fundin.. oh well, no crew then I guess (unless someday there is any 1:50 scale range...). I wonder now then.. If there's no crew (and the sail is set) I could put the oars onto the oar racks (is that the right name?)

Anyway, here are some details of the rigging for you guys :) The tiny knots where a hell of work!

First class job, the time you must have spent on the rigging has paid off.
Hope you find the right crew one day, this company do stacks of kits -

First notch knotting mate, really exceptional detail that makes it worth all the effort you have put into it.

You might be able to get the rowers that come with this set somehow?
