The file in the site is a zip folder so you need to extract first.
Seems to work well for me after unzipping.

Panda the problem is that new iterations of the same profile replace the old ones. So in theory he doesn't need heavy armour in Rivendell :/.
I'll probably change it so he starts with it selected in that list, but he's not forced to take it

LK I tried that but it just says "There was a problem sending the command to the program."
Thanks for the help anyway.

`My version of PKunzip does not work on this zip file. v1.34 unzips fine. (older version)
The error is that that the zip file "does not appear to be a valid archive" it is 1.357 meg.. so defiantly has content.

I unzip with the basic windows zip.
You can get WinRAR, the trial version is free (and doesn't seem to ever run out) and it unzips pretty much everything.

Well I uploaded a new zip (zipped by WinRAR) and this one seems to work.
Still can't figure out what the issue with the other file is.

Oh it's already there.
That's how I realized it was ok, it had that option available

Did you ever consider to convert it to Google Sheets (I can help)?

Not sure if it's worth having them in there or not.
The main bonus of google sheets would be the usability on tablets I guess, but that would require a new interface since this one was clearly made big screens.

Never used them before but it looks like it's just a matter of running the conversion.
Could try and add a link in the site

Well it can't convert it, so I'm guessing google sheets is lacking the functions used.

Thanks for trying. I think you can't convert it because it's too big.
Another advantage would be that everybody has automatically the latest version and as you sad for tablets (or in my case chromebook) use (cloud computing is the future). The only solution is to make the excel (copy/paste) manually in Google Sheet. I you would like, I can help you.

well, google sheets are... very weak. They only go as far as column Z, that's the last column in the summary section in the middle of the building pages. Even if you ignore the allies chart the functions go all the way to FG.
I may have an idea for a layout that could work better within a mobile setting but that Z limit pretty much kills any chance of having a decent army lists sheet.

In the old version it was limited by 256 columns, default they only show A-Z columns. In the new version it is 'The new version of Google Sheets should support 2 million cells of data', more info: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/37603?hl=en

I've been working a lot in Google Sheets and the latest version is amazing ;-). As I already mentioned, if you want I can help.

I won't be making anything in google sheets directly. Developing online is not something I like or advise, autosaving while you are trying new things is also not the best feature. Kind of odd that google didn't include an offline editor with the google drive program, as programmers they should know the value of developing offline.
2 million cells is peanuts to be honest, the current excel format has 17 179 869 184 cells in a single sheet, the old one had 16 777 216 and that was ages ago. Truth is with a structure like the one in this file a large portion of the rectangle that envelops every cell in use is going to be blank cells, the good side army list sheet fits inside a 261 000 cell rectangle just on it's own. Every army sheet goes down to 301 due to the cells that list all the warband selections, that 301 deep column is less than 5 cells wide, everything else in the sheet stops before it hits 100, so that's pretty much 200*the number of columns in the sheet that are going towards the capacity limit even though they aren't doing anything.

With the current limitations it might be possible to put the current file in there just barely, if you cramp everything up against each other.
Not very impressive considering some of the spreadsheets I made back in Uni dwarfed this one by far. Wargamming deals with rather small amounts of data after all.

Feel free to turn the current file into a google sheet.
I will try to come up with a viable layout for tablets, with the current layout I see no point in having it in there.

well I think I figured out a way to make it, google sheets is missing something that would make it look better though.
Grouping ranges, and allowing to hide/reveal said ranges with a push of a button. (gonna compact the entire equipment choice range per side, lots of columns)
Still it's a very compact format otherwise (almost no blank cells within the rectangle that contains them), I'll make a partial example for the good side and have google sheets convert it. Already checked that they have the formulas and the conditional formatting necessary.

Looking forward to the result. Isn't better to make it immediately in Google Sheet, I personally I'm not a fan of conversion :o
