THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

MRS DMS v TANKYSMOKE30 PAINT OFF

Here are the 2 candidates finished models. They will remain anonymous until the poll ends and the winner decided. Great fun watching these two fight it out over the last couple of weeks. They are already looking for another model for their next challenge. They both appreciate your feedback as they are a bit sick of mine lol.

May the best man (or woman) win

ORIGINAL POST BELOW
So after months of friendly banter between my wife Swix and a good friend of mine One Ring member Tankysmoke30 about who can paint the best model I have had enough lol. I have set them a challenge to begin this evening. I have given them identical models to paint (proof pics will be posted today) and they have until midnight 2moro to complete their model. I will post pictures in this thread with a poll for you guys to pick a winner.

Tankysmoke is new to painting and Swix has never painted a model in her life so its a level playing field. Let battle commence......

Loser to buy the winner a bottle of their favourite tipple. (Chris bring your bank card mate she only drinks the expensive stuff  )

That is awesome. Make sure you don't put who's is who's for voting. You would not want special favor given (hey I will vote for this one cause it is DMS wife). Just a suggestion. sounds like fun though.

This should be a good watch. Once this is all over maybe if you didn't mind you could give a sort of review on each model and where they could improve. Would be useful for a newbie like me.

I reckon your wife will win 'cause she probably understands some good techniques just by seeing/watching your painting.

Going to be fun for sure - lots of banter going back and forth in the DMS house I can tell you.

Great idea Sithious - i'll keep the completed entries anonymous until the vote ends - good call.

Claymore - sure I could do that i guess. It will go something like this " Yes dear you've done a fantastic job, absolutely no way you could possibly improve on that utter masterpiece of perfection" lol - just jokin of course : )

@Narsil reforged - The only thing Swix ever pays attention to when painting is her nails i'm afraid. we'll see what she can do.

Owing to some great feedback and suggestions on the GBHL facebook group I've opted to give the contestants the orc version of the Dead Marsh Spectres. Proof pics to follow as soon as I've trimmed and primed them.

I have this vision of a room that looks like a post-apocalyptic disaster area, covered in paint and glue and flock....
Oh wait. That's my room (or so they tell me).

Best of luck to both of them!

Haha theres been a change of model at the very last minute - they want to paint something with a bit more colour. I guess a spectre was a little dark. Pics to follow.

I'm still painting my spectre, was looking forward to that : )

I can't wait for this. Indeed keep the names out. I think Swix will hunt me down and beat me with a blinged out shoe if I knowingly voted for Chris and not her.

No cheating Kev, don't go dressing up in drag and speaking in a high pitched voice.
Mind you, you could be like that Alexandra lady bloke who does the girl painting.
I'm sure your beard will be very fitting, almost Little Britainesque....

I've gone with Dwarf number 2. Painting looks smoother. The cloak looks amazing, wish I could paint like that.
