Where is the captain's head from?
It is from the plastic set of mounted knights of dol amroth

Why desert gear (just curious)?
Thank you very much.
Dol amroth has fought countless times at the borders with harad at harondor, I decided to give a desert theme for my next terrain project, the fort of Celentir.

The old metal ones were horrific and the main reason I, until now, have refrained myself from buying anything from that range.
Do the plastic mounted ones have spare helmets? Because if they do, I may actually start to think it over...
The captain looks great, the change on the paint scheme is actually nice and interesting (even if it's not in conjuction with the book description) and the scarves are looking great!
Did you use the technical GW colour for the bases that was released a year or so? Were you satisfied with it?
1-I agree 100%, the old helmets were really over sized and looked more like warhammer fantasy.
2-Sort of, the plastic set has one spare head witch i used on my captain and 6 plastic helmets, however i casted the ones i use for myself with 925 silver (gives the little more value aswell
) and i dont wish to hide it, it is only for personal use anyway.
3-Yes the colour for the base is the one you mean and i am really satisfied with it, it makes cracked earth look very nice within some hours only and it is easy to use,i recommend it for desert bases.
4-Yes thats a snake having its head crushed under the plate boot of the captain, sort of symbolic to my theme aswell (snake being the symbol of the haradrim)
