to be honest I feel sad I havent bought multiples of that magazine and the next 1 time ago (both magazines would cost like half of a real box cost) for exactly the same amount of stuff.

I've noted on your blog you only used a handful of AP paints to complete these horses and you haven't done too bad.
Now here's a trick I think you missed. You should have used one horse to show the sheer amount of colours you can make using the few you had. Mixing little bits of this and that to make a realistic looking horse. It's possible, it take a lot of trial and error and the wet palette helps.
This has the added benefit of getting you used to mixing colours and how they work together, for example, how to use browns, blacks and yellows to make green.

I probably Should have done that yes :x ... but well, the next time I paint the Rohirrim I'll do it 8)

Not looking too bad. Keep an eye on your paint thickness, it needs more water.
Look to adding some very thin dark shades in the deepest folds to create some depth.
