so I started playing around with this app from Autodesk, it's called 123d catch and it stitches photos to generate a 3d model which can be exported for a variety of applications.

Here is one I did this weekend of the Argonath book end, my plan is to print it out larger for terrain piece

the app is free and i'm pretty excited on how well it works!
has anyone else played with this app? I would like to hear your experiences

At first sight it looks good, but I think it won't be cheap.
But I would like to see it if it comes to life.

(The Erebor environment is much more interesting for me.)
