Bolg's a bit taller but Azog's a tank. I mean they're both tanks but Azog's had longer in Dol Guldur's gym deadlifting dwarf corpses. He can't use barbells due to his hand deficiency. Azog's the Arnie of Middle Earth.

Anyway I hope he comes back and if WB really don't like him maybe we'll see a new model?!

That seems odd, I would think that WB would approve/disapprove products before they go to market, and if they did take issue with Azog after the fact it also seems like he would have been removed a long time ago. It's also not clear to me what they would have disliked about Azog in particular, that couldn't have also been a problem with some other models in the range. Maybe size?

I doubt they have a problem with the actual pose, it's probably the size of Azog, just like how the size of Smaug is the issue of him being released.

I call BS on the warners thing. It looks like there's been an f-up somewhere and they're pushing the blame on someone else. As was said before, it was manufactured, approved, released and sold well. Where's the problem there? If anything it's probably a technical issue. There are far far worse models. And why wait til now?

Actually I think thats just poor foreshortening. When they come closer together they seem about the same.

If he was removed because of the look, why does the miniature still feature in one of the flash panels under LOTR forces?

I think Games Workshop just forget to remove them from the panels on the Hobbit main page. It happened with the Gondor Command set too. It could also be easier to put the model back up as it saves them having to create a new flash panel and put the links back in.

He is also still available with the Barrels out of Bond Forces of Evil 1- Click Collection... a little expensive way to get him but if you want him to have an army.. there you go...

Well, if GW are going to remodel Azog, which seems 100000000000000% unlikely, then something like Weta Workshop's sculptures would be ideal and look fantastic as a miniature =

Azog the Defiler (on foot)

Azog the Defiler (mounted)

We can live and dream I suppose!

Wow the one on foot is such an awesome pose! That would make a great miniature for the range if it was ever reproduced in 28mm!
