So I'm relatively new to this site and am in the process of building 1000 points Harad and Gondor so thought here was a good place to show my progress over the next couple of months!

So here goes...

I've been really focusing on my Harad force of late, I wanted to try something different and focus on a more desert feel. Here's what I've completed so far!

So far I've painted about 600 points worth... over the coming weeks and months I'm looking to expand my force with some more elite troops (serpent riders, watchers of karna and a MUMAK!)

Stay tuned for more photos! (including the start of my Gondor army!)

They look nice, a good colour scheme. On closer inspection the paint looks a little grainy. Are you drybrushing ?

Great colour scheme, much more realistic than the predominantly used red-purple! Your painting does justice to it as well; I am particularly fond of the half-trolls: painting large areas of flesh is difficult, but you manage to do it flawlessly!

I also have to mention the bases which befit a southern army marching to Mordor.

Yeah all these models have been stripped and I was painting during the height of summer so my mixed paint was drying quickly =S

Thanks mate! I'm really happy with the bases as well

Great work on the Haradrim! I do like the muted colors in contrast to the overly gaudy look I aim for myself lol

So update time!

With all my new models for my Harad force currently being shipped I thought this weekend was a perfect time to start work on a display board to make them truly shine!

Not going to lie I am nervous about starting this project, I have never done a display board before and have no real practice making terrain =S

I saw a cool article saying that photo frames can make ideal boards so I started with that and have finished my palisades.

Next step will be to finish the gate!

I like the photo frame idea, I just hope it's strong enough and the glass doesn't break !!! Have you strengthened the underside ?
The start to the wall and fencing looks good, what else have you planned for this ?

Absolutely love the paint scheme you went with here. I may have to steal the idea and do up some that way. I have a billion of these guys. Very well done!

Can't wait to see how the scenery turns out! I'm working on a Far Harad force myself and was thinking of making a small board to keep them on and the idea of a photo frame is an excellent idea! Keep up the good painting also!

Wow so I haven't posted an update in a long time, luckily I haven't been idle and my Harad force is really coming together! I've made quite a few additions to my army including watchers of karna, abrakhan guard, the golden king and I even resurrected my old Suladan model.

Here is a group shot of my 800 point force I took to a recent tournament, unfortunately the army was not fully completed (2 serpent riders left out =S )

I decided to bin my first attempt at my first display board, I just wasn't happy with how it was turning out. I decided to take another (more sturdy) approach and so far am happy with the results! The board is designed for my 1000 point army I'm currently working on (pics to come!)
