The shipwrights of Dol Amroth have almost finished work on The Glaurung, which will hopefully carry my brave group of heroes beyond the lands of Far Harad…

Amazing work, but either the shipmaker is Evil or he is of seriously poor taste, great name.

Thanks guys.

The name of the ship has caused a bit of controversy. However, I beg everyone to remember that the end of the Third Age, when this story takes place, is over 5,000 years later than when dragon Glaurung actually lived. I doubt there are any in Gondor that actually believe he existed. It is similar to the British naming a Ship-of-the-Line Manticore or Chimera.

Okay, I assumed you probably had a good explanation, just wanted to know what, it is after all, an awesome name. 8)

Nice work on the shield and the blue colour scheme makes him look like a brand new figure...I also checked out your blog - Highly recommended!

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the adventurers!

Thinking on the Argonauts front...maybe your adventurers could come across some of these on their quest as a sort of homage? http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/our-ranges/greek-mythology/monsters/

It turns out, while all of Dol Amroth was celebrating the arrival of Prince Altherion, another hero joined the crew of the Glaurung - Peldroc the Hunter.

Read all about his tough life, and why he looks just a bit 'orcy' on my blog:

In the finest traditions of a put together army, one or two different races are always welcome.

Rymond the Breelander becomes the last of the heroes to join the crew of the Glaurung.  A bit of a conversion - something I'm not very good at.

You say you're not good at converting but Ry is a nice characterful piece and a worthy addition to the crew.
