Hey everyone,

Some time ago I started 'pimping' my haradrim (and corsairs) to look more northern. This was done to tie them in with Buhrdur and take some half-trolls. I figured that would make for a fun list.

So here are the first finished models. I will likely use the corsair as a captain because he stands out and looks very mean.

Opinions would be appreciated

p.s. A lot of easterlings were mutilated for this project. :P

I love that idea! This mongolic style gives these troops a very unique design and makes them stand out a lot. Well done!

I have to add:

I was never a real fan of the Harad troops.. Not because I wouldn't like them for some special reason, but I simply prefere the "norse" style like the Rohirrim have it.. Your conversions though let me want to have some now! :D

Very cool. They would blend very well with the 1980's versions.

Fantastic!

I could easily see these guys slugging it out in the mountains with some troll backup!

They look great! I do like the regular haradrim but those conversions are very well executed

Hmm, simple looking, but very effective conversions. Are they meant to be Men of Rhaudaur then?

Great conversions! I'm normally not fond of unlikely alliances that feel un-Tolkien-ish to me, but this way with special and believable conversions, this is no problem any more.
The fur looks very well sculpted. Excellent job! :yay:

Brilliant conversions, simple and yet they change to whole feel/character of the
miniatures.
For the green stuff you want to get yourself some soft clay shapers, they'll help a lot.

The fur is great. Makes the army look fresh again after all these years. Great concept too.

I found the haradrim champion from the mumak set somewhere in my bitboxes and thought id use him as the leader. I tried painting him as a crow, but im having trouble with the black parts. Either too dark or too light, cant get it right, tips?
Beside him I have his banner bearer.
I also started painting my Halbarad (alternative model: http://www.ebobminiatures.com/products/pop.htm?wallacefoot1)

These do look good. Nice paintwork on them thought he banner looks like the highlights are were the shadows should be and vice versa.
Great looking bases.
