Since I've started back up with LOTR SBG I've began to paint some new and different armies rather than stick with my old Dol Amroth Knights and Pikes. I posted up my converted mounted Glorfindel a little while ago in another thread so I will open with him.

And here he is finished.

I am also working on a Grey Company army which I find hopefully uncompetitive in some scenarios but then again they just look like such an awesome force!

Painting up 6 Knights of Rivendell to make up a bodyguard for Glorfindel because even a hero of his power can't take on more than 5 Mordor Trolls ;)

I love the red cloak on the Rivendell knight. Plus it will make Glorfindel stand out when he is on the table with them. Also the Glorfindel conversion is great! Awesome work rigg1313

Thanks guys, I wanted to pretty much go the opposite of blue and gold that normally dominates high elven armies.

The next stage of the knights is complete, I hope to have them all done by tomorrow night.

Really nice work on the cloak and metal, I'll look forward to seeing how they progress!
I feel the same, I enjoy seeing colour schemes that are different from portrayed in the movies. Keep up the good work!

Although I am a fan of the gold and blue I like the fact you have taken a different slant on these. The silver shield looks good though I would like to see more shading on it to create the depth it needs.
This may help

I've completed the two Rangers of the North on horse. I think they're looking pretty sweet, especially once they join my Rivendell Knights haha - Might bonus!

Looking really sharp there, RIGG! I love the way you've done your Grey Company, and the red cloaks on the Elves is a nice touch.

Thanks guys, heres some more I am working on at the moment. I've pretty much finished the knights and Glorfindel on foot. I wil post some better quality pictures later on. Tried an alternative painting on Thranduil however its hard to see in the picture.

I've also completed a converted Beregond mounted which I am pretty happy with!

Great looking models keep it up! I like the alternative schemes, you've pulled them off nicely.
