I'm afraid I have to withdraw my support for this army as it beat me in a tourney yesterday. I think Knighty took advantage of me, I was too busy looking at all the pretty models to concentrate on the game! :-D

It quite rightly won Best Army too - congrats Knighty!

I really like what you did the bases. What a fantastic clean paint job you've given them!

Oh - thanks for the massed forces photos on appropriate terrain.
I suppose an image of it thrashing Dr Grant's forces would just be unsporting :)
Well done on the minis and well deserved Best Army.

Great work Knighty, these are very inspiring. I think you've given me a reason to buy another EfGT box here, after all why wouldn't I want to convert the full company onto ponies?

And something else that I've been working on concurrently that I'm sure everyone will have guessed - the rest of the company on ponies.

That really is an excellent force. They look utterly brilliant together.

So the Company is taking ponies in a LEGO Slave-1 to Erebor to deal with that pesky furnace with wings? :)
Very well done on the conversions and thanks for the fantastic massed forces photos - does an old man good to see well-painted armies ready to bring the pain to the foe (especially goblins).

If you are done slacking off maybe you could put some work in... Just kidding. This is awesome. I was hoping that GW would not release the company on ponies, since they lose them before any real battles take place, nor on horses as they dismount at Mirkwood. But I am very happy to see converted versions as these are worth effort for one who wants to push his army up a notch. The dwarven army looks fantastic, who would want to march against that? Too cool.

pretty ponies! I'll target them first  good job mate, just a shame Throne of Skulls isnt a 1000points as this would stand a massive chance for best army.

They are of the warriors of Dale set, they are fabulous in every way... I keep loving painting those.

Thank you guys, really glad you like the army, its by far the one I'm most proud of. At some point I'll get round to doing Thror, Thrain and a dozen/two dozen Grimhammers, but for now I think I'll be taking a break from them (apart from the mounted company that is).

Heh, thanks for reminding me Southy... :x :-X

@Sithious:  I definitely need to stop lazing about...

@the_shovel: As belgiumfire says those are shields taken from the Warriors of Dale. I used them for a number of reasons; they added a bit of diversity and uniqueness, which is what this army is all about. Secondly they have been given to all the dwarves in Thorin's warband, (hopefully) making them stand out as something akin to a Kings/Royalguard (also helps massively on remembering who has the Bodyguard rule in Rescue :-D ). But most importantly I used them as I didn't have enough Erebor shields to go around :P

Next up: Either Gundabad Goblins, Hobbits of the Shire or a small Lake-town force. Until then I shall leave you with a little game of "Spot the Difference!"

How did you get so bloody many Hobbits on ponies?!

Looking really great there, Knighty.

Had four to start with, called in some favours, dropped lucky on eBay and signed away the soul of my firstborn to the Lord of Light Lord (I know a few of you will without doubt catch the rather obvious reference there :P)

But it just took a lot of luck and a keen determination Hurin. Though I'm still after four more so that I can replenish my stock of the originals and add the Four Travellers back to their rightful state riding at the head of a mob of angry hobbits. It never ends, does it?
