If you can buddy together they work out at £15 each for a job lot of 10. Each box has 4 layers of foam.

Or simply use KR multicase

http://www.krmulticase.com/

Fully recomend them, and like most kickstarter project you wont have to wait 6 months after they promise delivery!

Its not a bad idea at all but their failure to design a handle for one handed carry will cause a problem occasionally on transport since now the box practically requires a two hand carry. Also, although the sturdy cardboard box is nice to make it cheap, this box will wear out quickly as it is exposed to rain and snow (as you move from your house to your car to your shop, and back again) and also will not survive much impact from being dented in by accidentally dropping the box or just things colliding into it.

As that concept is just shoe boxes with foam inside wouldn't it be great just to have foam that fits with that dimension?
What size are the kr multicase boxes?

I'm an advocate of KR as well and have a dozen myself, but this is a cheaper alternative if you have a lot of mini's to store. You could also buy cheap foam, the hard part is to find boxes that they will fit in, so this is the best of both worlds, cheap, 4 layers and a box :)
