No time to post a real battle report, but I thought I'd share my run of unbelievably bad luck. I had Rivendell @ 500 points, the Twins leading a group of armoured elves and Gildor leading some exiles. My son decided to do something different, and countered with Gulhavar and a Dragon with tough hide. Basic "to the death" scenario, with deployment rules from Lords of Battle.

Both my warbands had to deploy within 12", because I rolled a 1 each time. I backed up as far as I could, but I knew if he had priority Gulhavar could catch whoever he wanted...which he did, charging one of the Twins right off the bat. Well, clearly Elrohir needed help, so I proceeded to try and charge Gulhavar with those sturdy armoured Rivendell warriors. No problem, they're elves right? Well, with the Dragon around, that's -1, but still...no problem...right? I just need a 6 or better.

The next 8 rolls for Courage by Rivendell were: 4, 3, 4, 5, 2, 3, 3, 4. Finally a couple of Exiles managed to charge to keep Elrohir company. Seeing my terrible luck, I decided to let Gildor spend only 1 Will to attempt an Immobilize, only to roll a 2. Well, I wasn't going to use his single Might point on that. Elrohir didn't fare that well that turn, but lived to fight on.

Meanwhile, my bowmen maneuvered around to take potshots at the dragon, hoping for a lucky roll. I got one 6, a 3 (but they moved, so no hit), a 2, and five 1s. Yay for elven shooting...

It was a stunning first turn, but things eventually turned around, finally managing to win fights against Gulhavar, and using up the Dragon's will with a couple of Immobilize. When the dragon was finally wounded, he rolled a 3 for Courage and was off the board. Probably the shortest but most outrageous game I've played.

Hahahahah that is so terrible.

Reminds me of one game I played against my Brother.

Had a board with a river in the middle, vertical so the river splits your deployment zone into 2. I was Rohan and Elves (I Wanted to use Haldir, Defender of Helms deep with Theoden) facing Mordor or Isengard, can't remember which.

It was a to the death scenario, we both deployed with about half of our forces on either side of the river, my Rohan on one side and Elves on the other.

As Expected Rohan lost its side of the river and the Elves Won theirs. So now My Elves had to battle the Evil side across the river. I had a slight advantage as my Rohan force had done pretty well against him plus I had Elven Archers to pick off anything that tried to cross. It looked like I had this game.

Until Breaking point, I had Gil-galad who managed to roll a 2 for courage Followed by Haldir who rolled a 2 as well both fleeing along with a lot of scared Elves who ran giving My brother the win!

Truly shocking indeed, but Nowhere near as shocking as shocking as your game.

That sounds fun. I love fast paced battles. Once my brother and I had a ten minute 1 v 1 match with Glorfindel and The Witch King. Also I painted my first Dragon today.

Nice dragon!

By the way great little store Whafrog. Thats a pretty funny match. Sometimes its just not your day.

Thats why I always thought with this game that when you roll your fight value should be added and then if you tie you still win.

Like say you have a mordor orc that rolls a six, and his combat then is nine because of the 3 fv then you roll a 3 with Aragorn. He still wins because his fv 6 ties with 9.

Those are game-changing moments...up there with Aragorn rolling three 1s while surrounded...

@Imladris96: great dragon!
