I'd second that lol to me that's abusing the rules although it's obviously not illegal.
Really hope they FAQ Alfred to not be able to replenish will and to only grant it to Dale heroes

Swap Durin for a kings champ, and turn some woses into old wood elves with spear and you are set, although we all know two shades, Dark Marshall, and reavers is the most cheese possible.

Btw to those of you concerned about the lack of theme, i believe that the point here is that it has no theme, look at the title of the thread :p

Agree with suicidal marsbar,
As much as I love Durin your best of dropping him for a kings champion and dropping the dwarf with banner as well. Give you 70 points which means you can swap out Ghan-Buri-Ghan for Thranduil and a dozen wood elves for a handy natures wrath.
If you can pull it of you can have your Khazads striking at str 5-7 with +1 to wound with no fear of retaliation :)
Oh and once you've done that swap Gimli for Balin with Durin's axe, he's better in practically every way, like the army though, seems fun to play :)

Sam, if you turn up with this army then we can no longer be friends you beardy, cheesey filth!

Urgh, it's everything that's wrong with Alfrid (I wouldn't actually mind the rest!), as JamesR notes he needs to be FAQ'd so at least one of the following (and preferably all 3) are true:

A) He can only replenish the Might of Laketown Heroes
B) He can't replenish above their starting value
C) He can't have his Will restored by other sources

If they were all true then it's actually quite a cool rule that mitigates the relative weakness of the Laketown army list. It would encourage people to take a full Laketown army with Bard, the Master, Alfrid and at least 30 warriors. Nice and fluffy.

As it is you're just gonna see him turning up with 12 Laketown spears (92 points!) in every flithy tournament list. A shame really.

BAD SOUTHY!

I cannot agree with this, people are always complaining that good doesn't have really good combos like taskmaster+wraith or groblog+shaman+goblin king.
I speak here as a evil player here, bring it on!
I think it's time good got some sneaky tactics too, i like this list it make me laugh.
Ps. I think you should switch treebeard for beorn for more tactical flexibility

But the task-master and a shaman are limited quantities. If I'm playing as good I'd just get Boromir Capt of the White tower (Gil-galad or Durin also work too), Alfred and Bombur to build up Boromir to 20 might then run around boosting everything to killing blows.

At least with Task Masters you roll after expending the might so if they fail the might is still lost

I think it could make for a fun video batrep to have a CHEESE vs CHEESE video battle report for the channel. Up for the challenge Southy? Should be fun!

Can everyone help us out with the cheesiest good list possible at 500 points vs the cheesiest evil list possible?

I don't actually mind Marsbar's list, it's certainly less cheesy to me. It's essentially a dwarf list with Saruman. What makes a cheesy list for me is when you stare across the table and your heart sinks, where people have placed the importance of winning before the importance of having a fun game.

I'd be quite up for a cheesy bat-rep though, these lists definitely have a place in games amongst friends where the whole point is to make the most horribly unfluffy, competitive lists imaginable.

Now, as for your 500 point lists, I don't have my SBG books to hand as I'm now back at home for Xmas but here's some examples of the sort of lists I despair seeing on the table. (excuse the rough maths, I'm going from memory and they're troops I don't normally use).

List 1

Knight of Umbar, Khamul and a Vanilla wraith all on Fell Beasts

List 2

Shade
Groblog
2 Moria Shamans
14 Moria Goblins with spear
14 Gundabad Blackshields with shield

List 3

Shade
Shadow Lord
250 points of Reavers/Harad Warriors with bows and enough captains to lead them

List 4

Alfrid + 12 Laketown spears
Bombur - 45
Legolas + 6 Wood elves with spears and bows
Stormcaller + 6 Wood elves with spears and bows
Dwalin on Pony

You could expand this notion to be adding Alfrid and the Laketown spearman + Bombur to any good list under the sun.

As I say, the maths aren't right but you get the idea.

Don't do it people!
