My birthday has given me a few pennies to spend on some new figures. I intend to but Thror but I also want an eagle / eagles.
So my question is, do I buy Gwaihir or the two Great Eagles ?
My interest is purely the hobby side so I do not need to think about points values, etc.
Can anyone offer me advice from a hobby viewpoint please ?

Definitely the great eagles. Gwaihir probably has the same amount of detail on him but more expensive. Also the normal great eagles have more dynamic poses.

Great Eagles. There are two of them in the box, so it gives you extra bits to play with, and you can do more with plastic than with resin. I also reckon they look cooler, and if you particularly want/need to, you can paint one up to be Gwaihir.

i would say 2 great eagles to one any time, the poses are aso awesome and a tip on buying is if you look online/ ebay they actually are sold brand new in box for around 5-10 less, i dont really know why (possible stolen) but anyway if it saves you money then all is good cus what you save could potentially buy you thror

Purchasing stolen goods is a crime ;) I highly doubt it is stolen. They might be unwanted gifts, old stock from a closed shop etc etc. but that isnt the point of the topic.

I would also buy 2 eagles, more value for money.

Two birds in the hand are worth more than one in the, err, hand. :)
I just ordered the 2 eagles today. I am not keen on GW's resin - it's a quality matter in the first instance. The plastics should be fine.

Easy Mally I have both sets (sad), the 2 plastics are much better. There is not really any more detail on the finecast.

You won't go wrong with either set, but the plastic are also in great positions.

Let us know what you are going to get.

Thanks everyone and the overwhelming and very quick choice is the two great eagles, so they will be my choice.
When I first saw these I thought of a diorama where the eagle set to strike was attached to the chest of a mordor troll. A sort of, my version of the great eagles striking at the forces of Mordor at the black gates. It looks like this could be on the to do list.
I just wanted to make sure there was nothing I was missing in choosing the two rather than just Gwaihir.
Many, many thanks once again.

I would get the two eagles as if you're having a friendly game, you could always just say one of them is Gwahir! I mean they don't look that different.

Is it even possible to outdo the bag end? That was superb
