You remember the stag that the dwarves shoot at in mirkwood?
Well here's an interesting thing:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-ryc54g0xc
In this part of the xtended edition of an unexpected journey there's a moment where thr goblin king crushes some goblins with his feet. I that scene you can see some sort of stag or antelope. Could the stag in desolation of smaug, if he appears, look similar to that? Just a thought i had...

They are going to be different animals but, I see no reason why they are not going to be similar. I just wonder if we are going to see "black squirrels", they could potentially be a laugh in the same manner as bat swarms!

The main thing i'm wondering about is why it looks so much like an antelope. Import from harad? :D
Black squirrels? Can't remember reading about hose in the hobbit... Were they in the book?

Yes, they wasted arrows trying to shoot one, and when they finally did it tasted terrible.

The Stag is in the book in Mirkwood which we are yet to see in the new film, however there just happens to be a dead stag next to the Goblin King in the extended edition of the film!

He did? Cool, didn't know that.
My point is if the one in morkwood could look like this. Which he probably won't.
