Hey guys,

after a long hiatus from SBG I have finally returned to the hobby along with another friend. We both live in Cardiff and are looking for people to play against. I collect the forces of Gondor, and he of Isengard. If you'd like a game get in touch :)

I might be interested, but I haven't played for a long while and I'm afraid I don't have any models with me (I'm a student at the university). Where do you usually play? Have you got a club or is it just the two of you?

We're both at uni too. We mostly play in GW but we've also been known to go down to Firestorm Games every now and again, but players are a bit thin on the ground (there's been some interest from the roleplay and wargame society though).

I think VG has some models you could use for some games, but that Morannon force you're building looks like something to build towards too :P

We actually have a few people up for playing/learning. There are a handful of people at Firestorm Games with LotR forces, plus I have a friend or two who are just starting up.

I mostly want an opponent that doesn't ruin me every game...

Well, I'd be happy to play a game if someone can provide an army for me.

Although I've played Legions of Middle Earth a lot, I'm not too familiar with the new Hobbit rules.

This is what the hobby needs :) people making that effort to meet up regionally, create welcoming groups for semi-regular gaming :) keep it up guys!

Elessar, the rules aren't too different. I've played a lot of LOME and didn't find the changes too difficult to adapt to.

We usually try and get a game in every other Tuesday if you want to meet up sometime.

Ah, I'm afraid Tuesday is a really bad day for me. However, I can do Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

That's cool, I have Wednesdays and the occasional Friday off so I can still do that.

Ok, sounds good. However, I think I'd like to wait until February before meeting up for a game. I've got lots of coursework before Christmas and exams in January.

What points do you usually play?

That's cool, I'm in my second year so I've got to take my course a bit more seriously this year. Still, it'd be great for you to come and hang out with us as we have a game at GW sometime, are you interested?

As for points, it really varies. Usually between 300-650 but I think we could go for more if we wanted to. I also want to try Battle Companies sometime if you'd be up for that?

I'd love to, but I'm afraid I've got an essay that I really want to finish before the Christmas break. However, I hope I can meet up with you after Christmas at some point. :)

Okay that's fine, we've had to reschedule our game anyway because of a conference I have to attend. (And Lewis wants to get his army fully painted).

If someone can provide me with an army (and a reasonably gentle attitude to my unfamiliarity with the new Hobbit rules...), I'm able to meet up pretty much any time over the next two weeks for a game.

Me and VG are busy for the next 10-12 days or so but after that I'm at least free (can't speak for VG). Do you plan on bringing some troops to Cardiff with you at some point?

Don't worry about not knowing the rules though, we've only had a handful of games each using the new set :)

Perhaps Thursday 30th would work?

I do hope to retrieve some of my models at some point. Hopefully soon. :)

I'll have to check my timetable as Thursdays are either just about doable or completely impossible, I'll let you know asap. :)

Friday would also work for me, if that's better for you.
