I was thinking about buying Azog or Bolg and i would like to know if anyone who has experience with them could tell me:
1. Who is better?
2. Are they worth their money?

Awaiting answers :)

Actually I don't like them... They don't fit well. They are quite good but their stats don't match what I thought they would. Therefore I don't play them much :/
As for who is better, it really depends of what your are facing and what you got next to them. Azog obliterates heroes and bolg can get very strong if he kills many.
I bought Azog because I like the white warg but that's it.
Hopr I helped.

I´m sorry, but what do you mean with their stats don´t match? I´m a bit confused..
Also if you used them already, are they worth buying?

I like the miniatures and the role of Azog in the film (we only see Bolg a couple of times briefly, getting a complete handbaging from Dwalin!).

Hi Manadar, I suspect that you feel that they are somewhat over powered compared to practically everything in the LOTR?

I know I'm in the minority of actually liking Azog and Bolg's stat lines. They are a little OP but I feel like Orcs have needed a few champions. I like Bolg better unless you mount Azog, his higher defense and buffs gained by successive kills is nice.

I have to say that my first reaction was "Wow" at reading Bolg's profile, I have been working on him tonight, and am really looking forward to using him in a Hobbit miniatures only battle around late October early November.

I do hear the over power argument but I do like the character and stat line and special rules, and feel that it would be a fun piece to play.

Bolg is only really any good against a horde where there is not enough nullification magic to keep him in check. Azog has more tactical options thanks to the while warg and the fact he can dismount whenever.

Azog is better because he wounds heros on 3+
But bolg is basicly argorn after ten kills.

Azog is way better than Bolg. I have never seen/ been able to get Bolg to 10 kills so I prefer Azog. 10 kills is surprisingly hard as a hero usually comes over to punch you.

For myself the whole hero wounding thing isn't that helpful as no one that I play with fields hero only/hero dominant armies they're just not competitive enough when everyone has a pretty firm grasp of tactics.

A 100pts+ cac heroes without a mount is a waste as far as I'm concerned. He can't impact enough on foot. So Azog may be better yeah.

@Bilbo I was expecting a gobelin a bit stronger than durburz and that would be able to buff other gobelins. Something like gobelin may reroll one dice to win the combat if they outnumber their ennemies and lose 1 Def if they are outnumbered in each fight. That would represent the "moral" of a gobelin army. A better warrior than Glorfindel for someone who has easily been slain by young Daïn surprised me.

Hi Manadar, interesting thinking there. It will be interesting to see Dain's and respectively Beorn's stats as the slayers of Azog and Bolg.

Well, i went for Bolg just because i like him mich more than Azog.
Yesterday i had my first game with him and he was just awesome. I had about 19 Goblins, Grinnah and Bolg against 11 Grimhammers, Gimli and Gloin. My Goblins only killed 2 Grimhammers and got completely wiped out.(Including Grinnah)
But Bolg killed 9 Grimhammers Gimly and Gloin. He is an extremely awesome hero.
