Hey yes the Necromancer is not a bad idea actually....

And I do really like those Thunderbolt Elves.....

The Thunderbolt Mountain elves were so nice they are the reason I delayed getting a GW elf army together.

Harfoot, I can bring a few along on Wednesday to the club night and you can have a gander. Tom Meier the sculptor sems to be a (skilled) one man band, and I don't *think* he has a UK supplier. I ordered mine, about 6 years ago from the US. A largish order to make it worthwhile. he threw in a goblin archer sample too

Here is a comparison between an orc, the TM elf, and the (chubby looking by comparison) Legolas.

These fellows are tall and thin

At the time the High Elves hadn't been released. I think all mine are wood elves. But unlike the GW ones are suitably armoured in delicate light mail with foresty motifs

Thank you! Yes I did prime him. I can't make a scale picture though, since I don't have the Sauron miniature. I can tell you that he is a little more than 9cm from foot to the top of his head.

Sauron is 6.5cm from feet to the top of his crown so your morgorth is much larger.

I added 20 High elves to a shopping cart and went part way through the checkout process.

It seemed to $15 for Shipping to the Uk for 20 figures. Experiment a little with the shopping cart and checkout. Just checkout as a guest, and use some dummy personal data to get the shipping estimate on the second page

Wait, so how far into the checkout process did you go?

I got to the Paypal page, where it still listed my total as only the cost of the models. The only step left really was to log in with Paypal and pay. I'm wondering if shipping is free in the US. I contacted Tom Meier directly by email but have not heard back.

That is the basic idea... for dragons it will be a mix of various Reaper, Darksword, and probably others, the Balrogs will be from GW (of course) and the Wargs from various....

Quite a good list. Especially the elves and dwarves, the houses of men do seem a bit dull though, a lot of the same. But a major difference in colour scheme can make a difference.

For easterlings you could use Egyptian warriors:

I wanted the Edain to be similar in look because they were close knit, the colors will be different for sure.

The Easterlings of the First Age were not at all related to the Easterlings of the Third, their closest "descendants" in the Third Age were the men of Bree. So Middle East and Far East type miniatures are not as accurate as the more Dark Age and Ancients.

Also for a Morgoth something around 8 to ten inches tall would be ideal. He was supposed to be the size of a small Tower. Keep Ideas coming, all are welcome.
