I'm working on this model too at the moment and (I hadn't believed that before) it's one of the hardest faces I've ever tried to paint! oO
You've done a great job here though! Looking forward to the result.

If it's any use I noticed the upper lip is pronounced and the cheeks are broad, much like Cate blanchet herself. So I only left the lower lip dark. Really great sculpt, cant believe I took 11 years to buy it!

Should I put this one or Legolas into the painting challenge?

Don't know, I would finish Galadriel first then decide. Trying to finish Glorfindel but might run out of time on this one.

Nice work on galadriel. The picture's a little dark, but it looks good. Maybe add some more definition (shading/highlighting) to the grey though...

Oh yeah the robes have two layers of white to go. The hair also has a bit to go

I'd put Legolas in the challenge because there is more to the model and you've done a fine job on him. Galadriel is a bit of a plain model no matter the paint job.
Love your wood elves BTW.

This, though there are some stunning galadriel's out there. (Check out cool mini or not) Though most of those great one's have some sort of free hand on the cloak, or are just super well painted.

Rushed to get it into the competition in the end. This is a clearer picture than I had submitted.

That looks great. I love the scenery. Really brings everything to life. I want to go back and redo my Galadriel after seeing this. Excellent work!

Wow, this is really good Gene. I especially like the hand/ring, and the hair and white cloak are done superbly well too. The only downside is the face, as her eyes look a little too red for me.

Great work Gene, I like the flowers on the base, as well as the fine painting of course. Haven't even thought of what to enter yet!

Wonderful! Is that another mini way off in the background to her right?

Thanks all. The eyes were a bit of a problem alright. My face technique is relatively new and I'm still refining it. At this point I'm still set against painting eyeballs on human faces.

The photo was a quick snap on a table set up for a game, so there is stuff in the background

Started re-painting an old Saruman, probably painted in 2002, but I suspect I might have re-done it at some point. Didn't strip it down, since the face only had 2 layers in the first place. Any tips on the palantir appreciated.
