You should have roughly equal spears + shields in each warband in case they are split up. You could do with a Shaman and your W-K has too few Will. Why mix Orcs and Goblins?

Ok, but sorting out who's in which warband can be done later. Thanks for the tip.

I guess I could get a shaman, but that'd be rather expensive money wise, and, from my experience, they get shot so quickly that they're barely worth it.

Sort of because they're the models I've got, and they seem to work well together, despite the different movements. I can deploy all of the goblins where there is hard terrain and the orcs in other places. That's why the Cave Troll is with the Orcs rather than the goblins, because he has no cave dweller rule.

10 will for the WK is fine at 500 points. It'll be enough to strip the will of pretty much any single hero at this points level and have some left for other spells.

A shaman is pretty much mandatory for either the Orcs or the Goblins, by the time they get killed fury should have saved enough wounds to make the investment worthwhile.

Other than that it looks like a fun list. It's got spears, shields and bows (though these do need re-organising around the warbands) a heavy hitter and a versatile spell caster. Numbers are not too bad either onsidering the cost of the WK and the Troll.

Barrow Wights are absolute gits, so you could consider one of them instead of the Orc captain.

I think having 2 captains is just as good as a shaman and a barrow wight as they have more might and heroic marches will reduce losses from shooting just as effectively as fury would as there would be less time to shoot.

My plan is to deploy everything at the front of the deployment zone, with my archers on either flank, to kill anything with a low defence that would be dangerous in combat (wargs or horses, for example) and charge forward with my orcs in alond line covering 3/4 of the width of the board, the other side covered by the witch-king and the cave troll. Together, the are capable of killing any thing that comes at them, which will not be too much as most of the enemy troops will be attacking the battle line (hopefully). If a hero comes, I can transfix him and then mash him with the Witch-king charging and the cave troll running in. The Witch-King has a might to either heroic move or heroic march away if he is in danger of being charged and a fate point just in case things go wrong.

Heroic march the line forward to get into combat asap to reduce losses by shooting.

I have only once had my shamans shot out before combat (damn you knighty and your rangers in towers  ) if you are smart and keep them behind the battle lines with at least 2 ranks in front of them, they should be pretty safe.
Also, you are going to be wasting alot of might heroic marching forward, I only ever use it as a last resort to get to an objective quicker.

I like the above army more, once you have sorted the warbands out. Also, just noticed the WK doesnt have his crown. He wont be killing much then.

I don't think the's much point with the crown when he's only got 10 will as, with all the spells he'll be casting, he'll only have enough will for a few turns of combat before I have to keep him out of the way for stand fasts when my army breaks.

You spend one might point (in addition to will) for channelled Fury, but you will waste a lot more might trying to close the distance with heroic marches.

As for Barrow Wights.......... how much might do you think you need if your opponent's heroes are paralysed?

Ok. I'll get a shaman and a barrow wight soon and transfix and paralyse people.

I don't think you can over-value channeled fury. I just played a battle as Goblins vs Elves. Fury saves SO many wounds its ridiculous. It was a rout lol I killed about 3 times what I lost in model count
