Lothlorien and Mirkwood 500pts

Warband 1
Haldir (Elf Bow)
10 Wood Elf Warriors (Throwing Daggers)

Warband 2
Rumil
10 Wood Elf Warriors (Wood Elf Spears)

Warband 3
Legolas (Armour)
10 Wood Elf Warriors (Elf Bows)

Is this a good army list?

Comments and criticism please.

Thanks,
LordElrond

with the last 5 points give legolas some armour - and yes, of all the lists you've posted i'd probably say this is the best.

Pretty good, but slight tweak: drop one td and give all the rest spears. Spears are a wood elf's best friend.

I would drop Legolas for Thranduil. His magic can be a lot more effective than Legolas's shooting.

Other than that: themed and effective.
With the new rules I hate bows though, even in elven hands.

Would do, but I don't have thranduil. I'm waiting for him to be released for the hobbit instead.

Another tweak: if you don't have Thranduil, maybe replace Haldir with a Stormcaller (if you have one). It's enough in 500 points to have one shooty hero. Then you can either give all the rest of your spears some TD (yikes!), or add a couple more warriors.

Would it be better if I got Gildor and used Noldorin Exiles for increased manouverability?

But then all of my othe rheroes would get left behind...

Or to change Haldir with bow to Haldir, Defender of Helm's Deep?

I don't think the other Haldir is worth it. Rumil is the fighty guy, much more effective. Gildor could be useful as an ally, but it requires you to mess around with bow limits (he's from Rivendell, so his wood elves aren't part of the Lothlorien/Mirkwood group). I think I'd rather have a stormcaller.

If I had a stormcaller.
But I don't really want to pay £24.00 for one when I won't use the other models that come with it.
I'll wait for a cheaper one on eBay.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Also, what do you think about noldorin exiles? Wouldn't the other heroes get left behind.

Maybe someone should email gw FAQ and ask them if they think a captain should be available to upgrade to a noldorin exile captain?
