Nice work on those hunter orcs. Really like the darker colours and the different skin tones.

So today was a quiet day, no work, no parents, no siblings etc etc so myself and muppetslayer decided to start (and nearly finish) some new gaming boards. cue a quick trip to wickes to pick up some more MDF, insulation foam, sand and brown paint. We also rounded up every bit of loose terrain we had and I raided my plant pots and flower beds for slate pieces. Oh and all the old CD's / DVD's we could find.

I'll let the pictures do the talking. Quick mention to Leonardis for the terrain ideas, we may have 'borrowed' them haha.

Couple of old combat hex miniatures I found in a box, repurposed as statues.

Covering all the terrain is homemade textured paint (which we added white to too early  )

All the boards minus the flock which we forgot to buy. 2 4x4 tables and 1 4x3 table.

All the loose terrain is in my garage drying so keep an eye out for it appearing on here within the week.

Some big scale work going on here, watching with interest.
Couldn't he,but note you used a Narnia DVD as one of the bases, at last the perfect use for them...

Aha! Someone has found a good use for all those old AOL cd's that used to clutter up the computing magazines in the later 1990's/early 2000's.
Hobbying outdoors in this cold weather? Someone has been eating their porridge! Well done!

It was mighty chilly on the day we were outside painting the boards, there was a fell breeze that even puffer jackets couldnt keep out.

Cheers sid, I've been trying to justify a RoB for ages but to texture and paint a 12 x 4 board cost us less than £40. To get the texture we mixed brown paint and sand. Only used about a litre of brown paint and half a bag of sand.

This is all coming together nicely. Those hex figures fit in pretty well too.

Another quick update. Warband 2 of the hunter orcs led by Narzug (not in shot). Got most of the basecolours done then it'll be onto washing etc.

Love the scavenged banner Southy, and I look forward to seeing the final army and the big variety of skin tones 8) now get some washes on those orcs, they're far too clean! :P

Managed to get Narzug and his merry men done before month end which coupled with a victory against Leonardis, gives me maximum points in Tale of 4 gamers.

Some completed shots.

Also upgrade fimbul to have his puppy, I think this came out quite well.

Army Shot (500pts)

Next up in the centre piece which will either be the drake or Bolg + others. Havent quite decided yet.

Narzug and Fimbul look incredible  too good in fact!

For the centre piece, hmmm...

Bolg is thematic, cave drake is a sight to behold. Either will do fine 8)

Good work, I found the Hunter Orcs very tricky to paint. Good job
