Not wanting to start another discussion about GW's Finecast as on this forum and others it has been threaded to death :) But I just wanted to share this...

A few days ago I optimistically placed an order with GW Direct for all the outstanding Finecast models I was missing from my The Hobbit collection to bring me up to date, some of them I've not seen in store. For those that read my reviews would know I would normally examine the models before I make any purchase, so ordering them direct made me a little nervous. Well the packaged arrived today... I'm speachless, all were near enough perfect, no wobbly weapons ( ) no missing fingers or toes, not even any troubling air bubbles. All, at first inspection, seem intact, with only the minor occurrence of flash and of course the always present mold lines.

This has restored a little of my faith to Finecast...

Of course reviews will appear in the future as I start to assemble the models.

Thanks for reading :)

hmmmm the older sets still arnt perfect though, my morannon orc captains axe is slowly going wiggly despite it being straight on the sprue. I do like the newer hobbit FC stuff more though. Picking up fimbul tomorrow so fingers crossed.

The prices may be a bit of a problem, but I have to say - the finecast is improving a fair bit. As a point at Green Dragon HQ, we tend to check every finecast clampack (visible through the packet) and also get asked regularly to open up boxes and check the sprues for imperfections and bubbles etc. Lately, the last problem we had was November, and with some considerable volume through the doors thats a hats off to their casting process on that one, *clap clap clap*
