Well first off, it is illegal, you have 12 bows even though you only have 18 warriors without bows from the same contingent. However more important is probably just the fact your warbands are not full. There is no point in having 3-4 warbands with only 6 warriors in each, focus on making sure all your warbands are maxed out, then, if need be, get a standalone hero. Also if you are going to mount Faramir he'll need armour.

Is this def right? Im reading the hobbit rule book and its sayd rounding up, one third of your army! Id take that as one third of the force as a whole.
Doesnt say anything about the number of contingencies etc...

Yup, remember "army" refers to each individual allied contingent. So fiefdoms and gondor count as two separate forces allied together... I'm sure of it!

Skip Angbor and his troops, add in 6 axemen of Lossarnach and use the spare points to get some guys in your knight warband, giving you more troops and making the list legal again as you could be able to solve the bow limit problem that way

Get rid of Aragorn the king 8) I would replace him with either Boromir or Imrahil. Also, you know Arwen's elf cloak has no effect on a horse? And find points for a banner, I always have at least 2 at 1000pts, so invaluable for your big heroes.

And to make it bow limit legal you need to either lose 6 bows, or gain another 6 gondor models (remember heroes dont count towards bow limit)

Unless you're going hero-only, max your warbands. You don't need Faramir, give his knights to Aragorn and maybe add a couple more, with a few more WoMT to round it out. You don't need both Angbor and Forlong, both the clansmen and axemen can be grouped under either one. This lets you add more elves, or upgrade Damrod to Madril (or the rangery-Faramir).

Your WoMT will need major converting, since you either have to carve off the shields that are already on your spearmen, or convert some bows to spears. Better: give all your rangers spears, and mix them in with shielded WoMT (6 of each).

Arwen on a horse is a bad idea as noted. All she needs is a better bodyguard. A few elves with shield+spear will give great support to your WoMT or clansmen line. In fact, you could skip the axemen altogether (unless you're going for looks).

Would a similiar approach it be worth it in my Grey company/Arnor force with regards to having the warriors of arnor mixed in to the rangers eg

(current example)
W1 Halbarad
12 Rangers of Arnor (spears)

W2 Malbeth
12 Warriors of Arnor

and instead go for mixing the troops
W1 Halbarad
6 Warriors of Arnor
6 Rangers of Arnor (spears)

W2 Malbeth
6 Warriors of Arnor
6 Rangers of Arnor (spears)

Would appreciate your comments and critique imy my equivalent 1000pts thread, Ste and I are entering the same tournament!

To be 50% bow you need to take a few Rangers of the north or Dunedain.

I would propose you edit your first post.

Do you use an army builder software? I would advise lonelyknights army builder. It will help you build armies quickly if you have excel.
Then you can just copy n paste to here

I found a better version, although still free. I use the Demo version of Army Builder, which you can download for free from the internet. However, you can only do 500 pt lists in the demo, so I often add up 2or 3 separate lists to make one bigger than 500 pts. You can have 3 Warbands, so is perfect for most things on 500 pts (apart from an army largely made up of goblins or orcs).

Anyway, just a recommendation fro me.

It saves me so much time as it is much quicker than getting out the sourcebooks and a calculator.

Hope this helps and saves your time infinitely,
LordElrond

Are you referring to my examples buddy?

:-D Haha if so, I know that, was just throwing an example of mixed warband (as oppose to full army list) 8) and wondering which would be best.

There is no definititive answer except to say its up to how you play.

In a pure rangers army I would always play defensive so avoid letting my bows get into combat early.

In a mixed force Im not so bothered but I would give the rangers spears n hide behind the arnor warriors and to as much as I can to help.

It all depends how you intend to play and how you build the rest of your army.
Army builder - great if you pay...else lame
Lonely Knights Army builder - good and free.

I wouldn't rely on LonelyKnight, I found many mistakes in it.

May have been mentioned, but your elf contigent is pointless and a waste of pts.
