Warband 1:
Eomer, Marshall of the Riddermark (horse)
12 Riders of Rohan

Warband 2:
Grimbold of Grimslade
4 Helmingas (shields)
4 Helmingas (throwing spears and shields)
4 Rohan Outriders

Warband 3:
Captain of Ronan (shield)
7 Helmingas (shields)

502 pts.

Any room for improvement?

I guess it would be better to give all of the riders throwing spears for increased effect on the charge?

Thanks,
LordElrond

Your cavalry contigent doesn't have enough mt pts per model whilst your infantry doesn't number enough for your mt pts.

How about, this instead, it is similar to yours:

Warband 1:
Erkenbrand, Captainof Rohan w/ horse
4 Westfold Redshields w/ throwing spears
4 Westfold Redshields

Warband 2:
Grimbold of Grimslade
4 Helmingas w/ shields
4 Helmingas w/ throwing spears and shields
4 Rohan Outriders

Warband 3:
Captain of Rohan w/ shield
4 Helmingas w/ shields
4 Helmingas w/ throwing spears and shields
4 Rohan Outriders

What do you mean by mt points?

Also, would I be allowed to use WoR archers as Outriders if I painted them differently, as the armour and all of their war gear looks the same.

For non-tournament events, if your ONLY RoR on foot models with bows are all being used as Outriders on foot then you'll be ok in almost all games. You just tell your opponent that all WoR with bows are Outriders.

However, if you're going to have any mix at all of WoR with bow and Outriders you're really pushing it as it will be easy to confuse them on the table. Maybe if you gave all the "Outriders" a hood of their cloak over their helm or something similar to help them stand out enough.

Thanks, that's a good idea
Any thoughts on the second list?

Mt pts = Might points. You need plenty for your troops.

Out of interest, why don't people consider standards?

In my opinion, they're too expensive for a 500 pt army, but come in handy more in 750+ pts, when you have more troops around to benefit from it

Perhaps, but I think in a CQB force they could repay the cost quite quickly :)
