Ah no worries. If anything, the misunderstanding was my fault for not explaining well the first time

I have decided to try to make each ranger be slightly different to each of the others, but this may be a bit hard, so there may be two or three of each.

I can alternate washes and highlights, as the rangers wouldn't have a uniform, just leather and cloth armour in dark colours and colours of the forest, to help them blend in.

The one with the blue cloak is mostly finished with the base painting, and has has its cloak washed, just for me to see what it would be like.

The other two have had their cloaks base painted and washed, just to make sure I like the scheme.

Please leave opinions here and also can you think about whether the colours would look good together in one warband?

Thanks,
LordElrond

The shading on the cloak looks just right, good balance. 8)
It's a bit hard to see them well though due to the glare from the light. Might I recomend a lightbox? They really help alot :)

The shading and colours look good, but I think you should stick to one coherent colour, otherwise they look kind aweird imo. You might have missed a spot on the 1st one too.

Nice work I must say 8)

You have raised quite an army! I like your captain High elf captain conversion. He looks ready to skewer an orc.

Your painting has greatly improved from your first posts. Washes and experience work miracles!

Scrapped the ideas of red and green cloaks.

Like the blue too much

Everyone is going to be in the scheme of that ranger in the blue

Pictures to come this evening

You are right. The red is unfitting for a ranger. It would not allow him to stay concealed, except if he was lurking in lava!

I prefer the blue and green cloaks, though to be honest I like your Ranger with the green more.

Sorry for the very long wait between posts and for the terrible camera on my iPod and my desk light (not a good substitute for sunlight).

So, coming up I've got:
Orc conversions (tiny tweaks, my first ever green stuff work)
Finished painted converted Aragorn
Wip rangers of arnor
Wip elven spectre for S&C challenge
Wip MoM Gandalf

Aragorn. I must say, I'm very proud of how I've painted the mud and dirt on aragorn. I'll swap these for better pictures tomorrow. The conversion is just an added bow.

Edit: I forgot to paint the rocks under his feet as I ran out of time before holiday. They'll hopefully be done by the time the pics are posted tomorrow.

Orc conversions. Very small tweaks as these were the first time I ever used green stuff.
I've sculpted a point on the captains pick and also sculpted an eye onto his shield.
For the normal orc, i added a Moria goblin spearhead to an orc to make him a spearman.

Not happy with the second conversion mentioned so ill make some spiked or something on the very visible join between the two parts of the spear.

Here's my spectre so far:
I need to convert 2 of these for my angmar army for 500pts.
The main body is a high elf archer (hand pointing up). I shaved off his quiver and chopped off both arms. One was replaced for a swordsmen's arm/hand and the other was rotated down and partially replaced with a section of hi arm where only cloth shows. (Still got to start on the cloth here). I sculpted a new metal plume thingy on the top of his head because I thought the old one looked too neat. The rest was just mashing and making things look ragged.

Still a long way to go however

Here's gandalf.
Done his gown/cloak thing (or whatever it's called) and his beard and hair.
Not pleased with the greyy blue on his hat yet. Any tips?

As you can see all other bits are still unpainted
