What are the common point sizes for armies? What should a player be prepared for?

250, 350, 500, 700, 750, 850, 1000, 1250, 1500, 2000.

I think that covers all the most common pts value games.

500pts use to be typical, but now with warbands more common points sizes would be 750-1000pts.

But if you're just starting, small point games like 200-300 are quite fun.
