Cheers!
I'm new here (but painting since.. let me lie: 2004?) and thought I start a WIP with one of my latest minis. Suiting to the latest Middleearth-film it's a white metal Bilbo that i got cheap on ebay.
On the left you see how he looked when I purchased him, on the right my work after finished painting him. Still has to be based, but i hope you like it :)

A vast improvement indeed, the face looks especially good. Do you have a lighter photo?

Great painting, but is it just me, or is his forehead too big?

Thanks for the positive feedback, I really appreciate it! I guess i can let more photos follow then! ^^
I dont know if his forehead is too big, I painted what i had there and on the GW site the head looks quite the same. Not to forget how tiny that guy is! That face was a real pain.

Here's a lighter photo:

And here the GW one for comparison: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... od1500447a

Ok, so here's some more stuff: an orc captain I recently painted (I'm especially like how his face turned out, the foto doesn't capture it perfectly though ><).
The other photo is an ent that i made myself in 2010. (He even has some bracket fungi at his legs!)

"They have a cave troll!"
I had to recreate the spear, because it was broken off and missing when I bought this guy. I used plastic from a leftover sprue and cut it into shape until I was happy with it's look.
I hope you like the painting too.

nice painting. @John, that is the right size. Cave trolls (and burdur) come with 40mm bases.
