Westu hal!
here are some of the buildings (in a more or lessed finished state) I made for my brave lords of the riddermark. ^^
The "big" house is the oldest of them, so it's unfortunately not the best. I will refine it as soon as I have enough time. But anyway, I hope you enjoy this little trip to Rohan :)

Love the burial mound! The Simbelmynë are a nice touch.

Thank you Elrond.
The thatching is made of teddy fur. Unfortunately my fur pieces were of different colour, so if I repaint the buildings someday I should especially have a look at the roofs again.
Anyway, I 'painted' white glue over the thatching and brushed it up and down until it looked well enough. When the glue is dry, you can just drybrush it. I used scorched brown and bleached bone for that.

These are cool, particularly interested in seeing your Watchtower as I have one as a Work in Progress at the moment... Just need to paint it :)

Really good stuff! What's up with the Rohan surge nowadays :P

Never saw a burned down house scenerypiece before, looks great and would be really nice for some scenarios!

Looks pretty cool. The only thing is the thatching for the roofs looks a little messy, which is fine if that's what you're looking for, but if you make it a bit more like horizontal layers I'd love it.

@Bartelomeus: I've been a fan of Rohan since I read the book and watched TTT. The models look quite nice too in my opinion.
The burned down building is what is left of a Rohirrim farm after an Uruk/Dunland pillage.

@SMORG: I agree, it, really is a bit messy, especially the first building. The roof of the second house is more like what i wanted since I dont really like the completely layered roofs. I wanted it to be rather a unit, like in the films:

The buildings are fantastic, including the ruined version. And the warriors are pretty too!

This is why we play games to immerse ourselves in the Tolkein world, these buildings would only further that feeling on the tabletop, top draw mate, these are fantastic and would be an honour to fight on a board with these on it.

Wow.. thank you all for the kind comments! I'm really glad that you like them!

@Sid: I used plywood (DIY) and also wood from fruit crates (from the supermarket). I cut them the size I need them and then, for the planks, drew deep lines with a biro on them. Black priming, then scorched brown, drybrushed with Bleached Bone :) The pillars btw were chopsticks ^^

@Dorthonion: Thx! Those are old though, you should wait and see the new ones I am working on! ;) They are still in conversion mode, but should appear in the WIP threads soon if you like to see them

Hi Rognarr,

very nice buildings! I really like the watchtower! But the roofs are very nicely done in general! Keep up the good work :)

thanks!

I polystyrene that i cut into pieces for the stones and glued them onto the base (which still waits for it's finishing :D). The woods and posts etc. are pieces of plywood or balsa wood that I cut into the right shape. Not too properly as it's ruined anyway :D
That's it pretty much..

Thanks,

I'm thinking that might be useful for my future Arnor board...

Sounds good! The ruined farm in the Hobbit film reminded me a lot of my ruined house! ^^
