Little bit of background: my wife's love of Hobbits is what led me to this game, and as such I figure why not give her what she wants. Sure, it's an expensive list, but that's hardly a big deal, since we're going slow and painting and all that.

That said, here's what we're looking at:

There's 21 points left over here that could either go towards throwing two Elven Cloaks on the Heroes (or giving them ponies, I suppose) or taking Fatty Bolger and Lobelia. Bill provides much of the benefits of Frodo at a much lesser cost and he's Bill the Pony, so you know he rocks.

Treebeard makes an appearance to give the Hobbits some punch. Not really a whole lot I can say about him that people don't already know.

can you take bill the pony without any other model in the felowship warband?

I cannot see any reason why you couldn't, since he is a hero... Devlan Mud. Bill requires Samwise in his warband. Funny how stuff like that catches you.

Advice: Army Builder is nice, but not 100% accurate.

Assuming it isn't just handwaved aside, perhaps the simplest "fix" would be as follows, although I think it's somewhat silly.
