 Post subject: Uruk Hai Army WIP - Berserkers 6/1/13

Hi guys just thought I'd post an update on how my Uruk Hai are going. I've only just got back into the hobby after been out for years (stopped when I was 18 now 21!!!)

I was kindly donated these models from a friend of mine which I think have turned out ok for my first paint job for a long while. I enjoyed painting them lots of drying brushing as you can see.

I also have painted a Uruk captain which I got on Ebay for £1!!! I added a stone to the base made from a wine cork a tip might I picked up from girlpainting on youtube. He looks bright on the picture but I blame my phone camera for that he looks alot less bright in person.

I have Ugluk to paint next which again I got off Ebay too. Do you have any tips on how to paint him? I want to keep him as close to the movie as possible ie the dark grey skin tone not red like GW have got him as and any tips on the cloth would be helpful :D

Feedback is very welcome and any suggestions of what to purchase next would be great :)

P.S I hope you've all had a great christmas and got lots of GW goodies :)

Thanks for the nice comments guys! I've just finished painting Ugluk I will post pics tomorrow :). I think I might head down to my local GW store and pick up some berserkers later this week.

Uruk's always look so nice! I have a box of them hiding away somewhere to be stripped and repainted...

Yeah hopefully it'll turn into a fully fledged army :) any tips on building up an Uruk army? I was going to get some berserkers or scouts next?

As promised here is my Ugluk :) I decided to paint the cloth in Snakebite Leather* and Beastial Brown* with a wash of Devlan Mud*

A friend of mine has kindly donated Lurtz for me to paint, so while I still have a couple of days off before I'm back to the 9-5 grind I'll crack on with him.

I like how you painted the eyes on the captain, looks better than Ugluk's. Just my preference unless its troll sized or bigger I never paint the eyes

Quick post update: Finally got round to finishing Lurtz! My Berserker's have been shipped so I'll tackle them this weekend I think.
