For a mega battle I've planned with 7 other guys we're going to use 2k points each of us. So, I was wondering what'd be the best to fill the points. Here's what I have:
24 wood elves
legolas
12 riders of rohan
Theoden
12 warriors of gondor
banner
knight of the white tower
7 dwarvish archers
Dain
6 Grimhammers
Thorin
8 high elves
16 Rangers
Aragorn
Gandalf
Radagast
Gimli
the 4 Hobbits
Boromir
Oh, I don't want to use them unless there is no other way, but I also have around 20 fountain guards and 20 citadels with bows.

Find a place for Erkenbrand somehow. He will give you better Riders of Rohan plus a massive Courage bonus for the entire army.

Interesting list- it has a lot of potential, but you are going to have to play to its strengths in order to bring that out. Though personally speaking, unless you are shooting to field the Fellowship (which it does seem you are) I would kick the Hobbits, just because that's almost Glorfindel right there, or some other suitably unpleasant (for the evildoers) model.

Best of luck!

It's unfortunate that you can't field your high elves or 12 of your wood elves, as you have not enough heroes to lead a warband from those factions

You would do well to get some really powerful heroes as well, and the high elves have plenty of these (Glorfindel and Gil-Galad)

Just curious why not, they would form a great solid core, especially if the FC had shields.
