Very nice dwarves... very nice indeed. And I like your take on the balrog. You've painted him well.

Nice dwarf expeditionary force you have. Love a few paintjobs within! Great balin. :)

Thanks John. :D I'm hoping to add a few more bits of green stuff baggage to make them look a little more expeditionary-ish :-D

That shield on your dwarf army! The sheer thinness of those lines, and the detail! Truly epic! The others are very good too, but the shield-dwarf trumps them all.

Why thank you Telchar :-D . I doubt I'll ever be able to replicate the pattern though lol.

Thanks Elrond 8) ... I'm hoping GW will make up high elf horns some time in the hobbit (*gives it some thought* actually it could be a dismounted rivendel knight :D )

Fantastic work on those dwarves! And I really like what you are doing with the Balrog - can't wait to see it finished.

Well done on painting so many dwarves, Sid.
I hear they are very dangerous over short distances.

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a good christmas!

To my suprise and delight I got the limited edition escape from goblin town box set so at once I set about assembing preparing the dwarves the dwarves =D. I decided to start off with Oin and I (unlike with my fellowship) decided to go for an alternative colour scheme, different from GW's rather dull various shades of brown:

I'm not very impressed with the pictures... the tones are smoother in real life...

I'm rather hapy with the purple though, it's not a colour I use very much... 8)

C&C most welcome
thanks for looking :)

Oin looks really good Sid, especially his face and beard! I like your use of the purple, too! Makes me want my goblin town boxset to finally arrive even more!

Oh and by the way, how's progress on your Aragorn conversion....? ;) :P :P

Wooo! You did a good job with the new pose, the original figure's pose is very hard to do anything with and I was wondering how you'd pull it off! Good man! I like it, looking forward to seeing it finished!

The purple looks really good, and bonus points for starting with one of my favourite of Thorin's Company :D

Look forward to seeing how Aragorn develops too!

Looks nice. What did you use for the skin tones? Mine always come out a bit too sallow for what i'd like.

That's a very good paintjob, I'm not sure about the Dwarves having or bothering with purple dies but it looks nice. I'm also very keen on the face and beard which looks brilliant. :yay:
