By old plastics what do we mean, 2005 and back?
That's a shame, if the only advantage of the Grim Hammerers are their hammers and in other respects they are weaker than the Guard, I am losing interest in buying them and using them. I don't think I'll be using the new weapon rules.
But then again their design is great and I have the ballista which is pretty ineffective game-wise yet a nice army piece.

We're skipping them as well, we find them unbalanced and tedious.

If there is one, it needs to be marked with SPOLIERS! in big red writing or something  I'm unable to see it till next week at the earliest. Dont want the extra bits ruined etc etc.

If we look at the previous cavalry prices aka, Hunter orcs on wargs, Dol Amroth etc, I think around £25 is a safe bet for a plastic kit of 6 rivendell knights.

I'm going to buy those Grim Hammers and Rivendell Knights. And the Hunters on Fell Wargs too, probably.

I will definitely get those Grimhammers, and hopefully they do some Erebor warriors too. Hopefully an Erebor warrior set would come with axe, sword and pike geared Dwarves. maybe 6 warriors with hand weapons, 6 warriors with pikes, and 6 warriors with bows in one box. But then again I don't know how the rules for the new Dwarves in the book anyways.

Chatting to a GW guy yesterday, they say the new Dwarf Grim Hammers are plastic in boxes of 9.

Watched the film last night, BRILLIANT, ignore anyones negative comments, it is good, very, very good. Plan to go again over Christmas Holidays to see it in 2D to compare the difference.

Boxes of 9??? Another d*** move by GW. Want a Warband of 12 Grimhammers? You have to buy 18. Want two Warbands of 24 models? Buy 27.

I've learnt to ignore what the employees of GW say. Been told many 'truths' by my local manager which have later turned out to be false.

It will more likely be 6 Shield and 6 Spear + shield as they cannot take bows in the new rules.

It could be reasoned if it were 9 regular warriors plus a 3-piece command unit (captain, bannerbearer and hornblower). Otherwise, it would not make any sense and I'd highly doubt it. 9 is too few to base an army core on, but too many to sell them as elite troops (a la Khazad Guard, Iron Guard or Uruk-Hai Beserkers).
To avoid dissapointment, I'll just expect 3-piece FC clampacks.

This is your personal opinion. One could as easily and arbitrarily say that the positive opinions are to be ignored. I saw the movie last night I think it was so-so a 6/10. In my opinion it started out great but then it became tedious and repeating. But this is my personal opinion, and I suggest everyone to form theirs after seeing the film.

Of course it's his opinion, it's rather redundant to state so explicitely. And if he want's to express his opinion enthousiastically, good for him.

At the risk of being irritating, I'll ask you all to please keep your film opinions to a different thread.* This thread is about the GW's February releases, which may have run its course.

I'm making a point of it, because differing opinions about the movie are already causing tempers to flare, and we don't need every thread polluted by this one topic. Let's keep the brawl contained! :)

* A little guilty of this myself

You guys can see the armor set the Grimhammers are based off of here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qJ8-VwZZkw

Really intricate I love the new Dwarf armor designs, don't care much for the GW hammer design with the spike but the hammer here looks cool.

this is what I heard about it all:
- elrond armoured foot and mounted (new)
- new radagast pose (finecast)(heard rumours about his mounted chariot thing pulled by rabbits)
- new bilbo pose (finecast)
- rivendell knights (plastic)
- loose feral wargs(we still dunno) (plastic most likely)
- azog foot and mounted (maybe) (finecast maybe)
- grim hammers and their captain (plastic - captain finecast)
- eagles (plastic kit)

After seeing the movie I think I'll have to buy Elrond and Rivendell Knights for my Rivendell army.
